Definitions
- the invention relates to an arrangement for noise reduction during operation of impact drills used in particular in underground mining and tunnel construction by increasing the resistance of the boring bar used between the hammer drill and drill bit with a known polygonal, round or elliptical cross section against the generation of acoustic natural vibrations by means of additional masses permanently attached to the boring bar .
- the sound radiation from the rotary hammer could already be largely reduced by a whole series of measures, e.g. due to a more compact design and thus a reduced surface area, replacement of sheet metal parts by plastic parts and in particular through noise reduction measures in the path of the compressed air emerging from the hammer drill.
- FR-A-1452240 proposed to surround the upper end of tool inserts of compressed air-operated impact devices - as regards the boring bar in the present case - with a casing made of elastic material, this casing being in one piece or in several parts in the form of a series of rings made of elastic material is formed with annular spaces of the same width located between them.
- a metallic sleeve is to be pushed on and pressed on.
- DE-OS 2920139 takes a step in the direction of directly suppressing the formation of acoustic natural vibrations in a boring bar, which proposes to largely dampen the radiation of mechanical vibrational energy by covering the entire length of the boring bar with a plastic sheathing, and using additional masses applied to it in sections to generate noticeable resistance of the boring bar arrangement to the formation of acoustic boring bar vibrations.
- Such an arrangement leads to a considerable increase in weight of the drill rod arrangement, on the other hand, as for the removal of the cuttings from the borehole, requires a drill bit with an enlarged diameter compared to the operation of the same drill arrangement with a simple drill rod.
- the present invention has set itself the task of achieving an optimal sound damping of the boring bar arrangement without undue loss of performance of the entire drilling machine arrangement.
- a sleeve-like metallic mass bundle consisting of two individual masses permanently separated by an only pushed-on sleeve-like spacer made of rubber, plastic or a metal tube piece coated with rubber or plastic, for example by Pressing, if necessary after previously arranging rubber or plastic rings between the boring bar and individual mass to increase the slip resistance, is fastened, both the - preferably similar - individual masses for themselves and the mass bundle as a whole in relation to the total length of the boring bar being short and in proportion to the mass of the boring bar are designed to represent a noticeable additional mass.
- the particular advantage of this arrangement is that from the outset it significantly limits the occurrence of acoustic vibrations of the boring bar - especially in the range of higher frequencies of the sound wave spectrum - and thus already results in a noise reduction comparable to that of a boring bar that is completely damped with rubber or plastic, without a loss of performance due to the to have to accept the necessary increase in the drill bit diameter for the removal of the cuttings when using a coated boring bar.
- Another advantage of the invention is that the concentration of the additional masses attached to the boring bar directly in front of the hammer drill causes a significantly lower loss of power compared to a continuous distribution of the additional masses (damping) over the entire length of the boring bar, and even no loss of power for selected - permissible - operating states or greater drilling performance compared to an undamped boring bar results - even if the total additional mass in the case of the present invention or a continuous distribution over the entire boring bar length is of the same order of magnitude.
- two metallic individual masses (4, 5) are pressed onto these at a defined distance so that the attachment can withstand a load of at least 5 t after the Pressing between the boring bar and individual masses of rubber or plastic rings (7) have been introduced to increase the slip resistance.
- the distance between the individual masses is defined by a spacer (6), which consists of rubber, plastic or a metal tube piece coated on the inside with rubber or plastic and is pushed onto the boring bar between the individual masses before it is pressed on.

Description
The invention relates to an arrangement for noise reduction during operation of impact drills used in particular in underground mining and tunnel construction by increasing the resistance of the boring bar used between the hammer drill and drill bit with a known polygonal, round or elliptical cross section against the generation of acoustic natural vibrations by means of additional masses permanently attached to the boring bar .
In the case of the impact drilling machines used in underground mining and tunneling, in particular for the production of boreholes for explosive shots, there are essentially two sources of noise to be separated, which must be reduced independently of one another in order to avoid damage to the health of the personnel working in the area of the impact drilling machines. One source is the hammer drill, which is normally operated with compressed air, the other source is the boring bar, which during operation is excited to acoustic vibrations - also and especially in the audible range - which it then transmits to the surrounding air via its surface.
In the past, the sound radiation from the rotary hammer could already be largely reduced by a whole series of measures, e.g. due to a more compact design and thus a reduced surface area, replacement of sheet metal parts by plastic parts and in particular through noise reduction measures in the path of the compressed air emerging from the hammer drill.
In the past, e.g. to reduce the noise level of the boring bar, in FR-A-1452240 proposed to surround the upper end of tool inserts of compressed air-operated impact devices - as regards the boring bar in the present case - with a casing made of elastic material, this casing being in one piece or in several parts in the form of a series of rings made of elastic material is formed with annular spaces of the same width located between them. In the case of a multi-piece design of the casing, a metallic sleeve is to be pushed on and pressed on.
However, due to its physical nature, such an arrangement only serves to dampen the radiation of acoustic natural vibrations of the tool insert that have arisen from its surface, but not to prevent the occurrence of acoustic natural vibrations themselves. This is also not caused by the metallic sleeve, which according to its task and function not as an additional vibration-damping compound, but only as a - thin-walled - fixing aid for the rings made of elastic material on the tool insert. The task of vibration suppression is reserved for the sheathing made of elastic material.
Eine derartige Anordnung führt aber einerseits zu einer erheblichen Gewichtszunahme der Bohrstangenanordnung, andererseits erfordert wie zur Abbeförderung des Bohrkleins aus dem Bohrloch eine Bohrkrone mit vergrössertem Durchmesser gegenüber dem Betrieb der gleichen Bohrmaschinenanordnung mit einfacher Bohrstange.DE-OS 2920139 takes a step in the direction of directly suppressing the formation of acoustic natural vibrations in a boring bar, which proposes to largely dampen the radiation of mechanical vibrational energy by covering the entire length of the boring bar with a plastic sheathing, and using additional masses applied to it in sections to generate noticeable resistance of the boring bar arrangement to the formation of acoustic boring bar vibrations. Such an arrangement, on the one hand, leads to a considerable increase in weight of the drill rod arrangement, on the other hand, as for the removal of the cuttings from the borehole, requires a drill bit with an enlarged diameter compared to the operation of the same drill arrangement with a simple drill rod.
However, both effects generally lead to a considerable loss of performance of a drilling machine arrangement once specified when using the proposed noise damping measures, the second effect also having to be taken into account when using the subject matter of FR-
In contrast, the present invention has set itself the task of achieving an optimal sound damping of the boring bar arrangement without undue loss of performance of the entire drilling machine arrangement.
This takes place in that immediately before the insertion end of the boring bar to be inserted into the hammer drill, a sleeve-like metallic mass bundle consisting of two individual masses permanently separated by an only pushed-on sleeve-like spacer made of rubber, plastic or a metal tube piece coated with rubber or plastic, for example by Pressing, if necessary after previously arranging rubber or plastic rings between the boring bar and individual mass to increase the slip resistance, is fastened, both the - preferably similar - individual masses for themselves and the mass bundle as a whole in relation to the total length of the boring bar being short and in proportion to the mass of the boring bar are designed to represent a noticeable additional mass.
The particular advantage of this arrangement is that from the outset it significantly limits the occurrence of acoustic vibrations of the boring bar - especially in the range of higher frequencies of the sound wave spectrum - and thus already results in a noise reduction comparable to that of a boring bar that is completely damped with rubber or plastic, without a loss of performance due to the to have to accept the necessary increase in the drill bit diameter for the removal of the cuttings when using a coated boring bar.
Another advantage of the invention is that the concentration of the additional masses attached to the boring bar directly in front of the hammer drill causes a significantly lower loss of power compared to a continuous distribution of the additional masses (damping) over the entire length of the boring bar, and even no loss of power for selected - permissible - operating states or greater drilling performance compared to an undamped boring bar results - even if the total additional mass in the case of the present invention or a continuous distribution over the entire boring bar length is of the same order of magnitude.
Ein Beispiel für einen mehrteiligen hülsenartigen metallischen Massenbund zeigt die Fig. 1:1 shows an example of a multi-part sleeve-like metallic mass bundle:
