Abstract

The invention relates to a sales package, designed as a folding box, and it contains a releasable discharge trough. It is characterized in that the folding box has a recloseable wall portion, whereas the folding box is made of cardboard, in particular corrugated cardboard.

Description

The invention relates to a sales package for packaging food products, such as potatoes or onions.

Potatoes and onions are usually sold in mesh bags in small containers between 1 kg and 5 kg. As an alternative to mesh bags, plastic bags or paper bags with air holes are also sometimes used.

However, the packaging used so far has shortcomings in terms of protecting potatoes or onions, transporting them, and presenting the product.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide an improved sales package for packaging potatoes and/or onions.

This object is solved according to the invention by a sales package according to claim 1.

The sales package according to the invention is designed as a collapsible box, with the box having an openable chute. The sales package can thus be used as a storage box from which potatoes or onions can be easily removed through the open chute.

There are many advantages to using such boxes compared to a classic mesh bag:

- protection of potatoes/onions from mechanical damage,

- light protection, evaporation protection,

- temperature protection against temperature changes, especially during transport,

- no environmental pollution compared to a regular mesh bag,

- easy stacking, advantages in transportation,

- large advertising and information space on the walls of the sales suite,

- cleaning of the aggregate can be omitted during processing,

- simplified receipt of potatoes or onions,

- box recyclability.

The box according to the invention can be made, for example, of cardboard or paperboard. A box made of corrugated cardboard is particularly preferred. This material gives the box high stability and protects the potatoes or onions optimally.

Advantageously, the box has a hinged front and side panels that are pushed into the interior of the box when the chute is folded. When the chute is opened, the potatoes or onions slide into the chute, but are prevented from falling out by the front wall and side panels. The potatoes or onions, respectively, can thus be easily removed from the chute opening area.

Preferably, the chute is arranged on the box in such a way that it can only be opened at one angle, which is determined by the structure.

Preferably, the edges have a protrusion that, when the chute is opened, contacts the box wall and prevents the chute from opening further.

The side plates may in particular have sector-shaped upper edges, at the end of which there is a protrusion. Plates with a sector-shaped cutting line can move out of the wall part, since the protrusion acts as a support and ensures maximum opening of the gutter. Other shapes may also be conceivable instead of a sector-shaped cutting line.

Advantageously, the chute according to the invention comprises a partial area of a section of the box wall. Preferably, the chute does not form the entire box wall, but only a part of this wall. In particular, the chute can form the lower part of the front side of the box. When removing potatoes or onions, more potatoes or onions slide from the upper closed area of the box into the chute area.

In addition, according to the invention, it can be provided that the chute in its closed position engages with its upper edge section of its front side slightly below the second wall section of the box. This allows the chute to be initially secured in the closed position, whereby a certain amount of force is required to open the chute for the first time.

Additionally, the chute can be covered with a removable wall section when closed, which acts as a freshness seal. After removing the removable wall section, the chute underneath is then accessible and can be opened.

Furthermore, the box according to the invention may have a resealable wall part. This allows for problem-free filling of the box, which is also a package for permanent storage. Advantageously, the resealable wall part has a lateral fastening tongue, which can be pushed into a slot to close the box. The resealable wall part may also be used for initial filling of the box.

In a preferred embodiment, the reclosable wall portion is arranged at the top of the box. In particular, it may be in the upper portion of the front side of the box in the case of the reclosable wall region.

In addition, according to the invention, it can be provided that the box has a perforated front wall, the perforation dividing the front into two regions. This allows for a functional separation of the two regions of the front. The front is advantageously connected to the side wall via a fold line.

Advantageously, the perforation extends from the connection line with the side wall to the free edge of the front side. In particular, the perforation on the front side can thus separate the upper and lower parts.

In a preferred embodiment, the first region of the front side is connected to the side wall of the box across the fold line, while the second region is connected to the side wall with perforations.

In particular, the first region may be a reclosable folding part. Alternatively or additionally, the second region may form a removable wall part acting as a freshness seal.

As a further advantage, the perforation line between the first and second wall regions of the front side can be formed as a cutting line in a partial region, wherein the partial region is preferably a flap for opening the chute. The perforation partial region, which is formed as a cutting line, can be used for opening the chute to remove the wall region to be separated.

Preferably, the opening region of the chute is an opening after the wall region to be separated has been removed, which allows the chute to be retracted. The retracted position allows for easy opening of the chute.

Preferably, the box according to the invention has ventilation holes. These are for optimal air and moisture exchange.

Preferably, the ventilation openings are formed as recesses in one or more wall regions of the box. The openings can optionally pass through all material layers where the wall regions of the box are formed from two or more material layers. Preferably, the openings are punched in the box for inspection when checking the contents.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the openings are shaped like potatoes or onions. The openings thus signal by their shape what the contents are in the box.

The boxes are preferably provided with a print on one or more outer sides. The print is particularly preferably on at least the front side.

The sales package according to the invention is preferably filled with unpackaged potatoes or onions.

In addition, according to the invention, unwashed potatoes can also be used, which, when packaged in a closed container, does not allow dirt to escape.

Preferably, the total weight of the sales package according to the invention is between half a kilogram and ten kilograms, in particular a total weight between one kilogram and five kilograms.

For embodiments in which the box contains potatoes, the following total weights may be used in particular: 1.5 kilograms, 2.5 kilograms, 3.5 kilograms, 5 kilograms.

For embodiments where the box is filled with onions, the following full weights may be used in particular: 1 kilogram, 2 kilograms, 3 kilograms, 5 kilograms.

Of course, other graduations are also possible.

The box according to the invention is particularly preferably cuboid-shaped. The box may in particular comprise four side walls with upper and lower panels, the lower panels forming a bottom when folded and the upper panels forming a trough and/or a front.

The plates on the lower side surface advantageously form a channel which can be pulled apart. The front side is furthermore preferably a plate which is located on one of the two side surfaces which define the lower side. The front side can be secured to the opposite side by means of a fastening tab in order to close the box. The front side preferably covers the entire front surface of the box and has a detachable area which covers the channel.

The plates, which are located on opposite side surfaces, advantageously separate the gutter area and are located under the front in the folded position. These plates may have a cutout in the area of the fold line into which the front fastening tab can be inserted.

The gutter is preferably made in such a way that its upper edge section is positioned slightly below the lower edge of the non-separable wall area of the front side and is thereby first attached to the front edge even after the separable wall area has been removed.

The walls of the cuboid box may, according to the invention, for example have a length and width of between 8 cm and 80 cm.

Particularly preferably, the height of the front is between 15 cm and 50 cm, the width is between 10 cm and 40 cm and the depth of the box is between 10 cm and 30 cm.

In addition to a single sales kit, the present invention encompasses a set of sales kits as detailed above.

The sales package according to the invention can be stacked particularly easily. The set particularly preferably comprises a pallet on which a number of sales sets are stacked. For transport, the sales sets can be placed on top of each other and/or on a pallet, for example, wrapped in plastic foil.

The present invention further comprises a sales package for sales sets as described above. In particular, this sales package is a box. Preferably, the box is designed as described above.

The present invention further comprises a material blank for a sales package according to the invention as shown in more detail above. Preferably, it comprises a corrugated cardboard blank.

The material blank is preferably shaped in such a way that, after gluing or stapling together, the individual partial regions can be folded together in such a way that a box according to the invention is obtained.

Preferably, the material blank has four continuous side wall regions which are connected to each other by corresponding break lines. Preferably, one outer side has a plate which can be connected to the opposite side wall section, in particular by gluing or clamping.

The side walls are preferably provided with lower or upper panels, respectively, via a fold line. The lower panels can advantageously be folded onto the bottom, and are advantageously at least partially adhesively bonded to each other. The upper panels advantageously form a gutter or front as described in detail above.

The present invention will now be described in more detail again with reference to the exemplary embodiments and drawings.

Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a sales package filled with potatoes or onions according to the invention in the form of a box and in a perspective view, wherein the box is completely closed.

Figures 1 to 5 show an embodiment of a sales package 1 according to the invention and a filling 2 in the form of potatoes or onions located in the sales package. According to the invention, a box is used as the sales package 1.

The front side 3 of the box is placed on one of the two walls of the box via a fold line and thus forms a hinged lid which is closed after filling.

In the embodiment, the front side 3 is made reclosable, for which purpose it includes a fastening plate 11 which can be inserted into a slot 9 located on the corresponding front edge of the opposite side wall.

The front side 3 is divided by perforation 6 into an upper region 4 and a lower region 5, the lower region 5 being separable and forming a freshness seal. For this purpose, the lower region 5 is also connected to the corresponding side wall in the region of the fold line via perforation 8.

The box according to the invention further comprises a chute 12, which enables convenient removal of, for example, potatoes or onions from the box. The chute 12 has a hinged front part 13 and side plates 14, which form the side walls of the chute area when the chute 12 is opened. The front part 13 is connected to the lower side wall of the box via a fold line, since the side plates 14 are connected to both side edges of the front part 13 via a fold line and are inserted into the box when the chute 12 is closed.

In the exemplary embodiment, the chute 12 is located behind the detachable part 5 of the front side 3 in the closed state of the box and is therefore only accessible when this detachable part 5 is removed.

For the purpose of detaching the detachable part 5, the perforation 6 is designed as a cutting line 7. This acts as a tab that can be pressed in and allows the detachable region 5 to be removed. The cutting line 7 also forms a recess on the lower edge of the upper region of the front side 3 and thus enables engagement behind the upper edge of the front part 13 of the gutter 12.

In the remaining area, the edge of the front part 13 of the chute 12 is slightly covered by the lower edge of the upper region 4 of the front side 3 and thus also secures its closed position when the detachable part 5 is removed. The chute 12 must therefore be opened using a certain force in order to pull the front of the upper edge of the chute out from under the lower edge of the upper region 4.

The side plates of the chute 12 have 14 corresponding projections 18 which, at a given opening angle of the chute, come into contact with the opposite box wall sections and thus prevent further opening of the chute 12. The opening angle is preferably between 20 and 70 degrees, more preferably between 30 and 60 degrees, viewed towards the front of the box.

The box according to the invention may also have cutouts 10 which are ventilation holes. In addition, these cutouts allow a look at the potatoes or onions inside the box. In addition, the cutouts 10 have the shape of a potato in the case of a potato sales package and the shape of an onion in the case of an onion sales package.

A corresponding embodiment with onion-shaped cutouts 10 in the material blank is shown in Fig. 6.

The folded box according to the invention consists of corrugated cardboard in an embodiment and is cuboid in shape. In the embodiment, the height of the front side is greater than the width of the front side, whereby the height and width of the front side are each greater than the height of the side walls or the depth of the folded box.

For use of the sales package according to the invention as a storage or dispenser for potatoes or onions, an upwardly extending discharge chute is provided on the lower side surface of the folded box. The onions or potatoes slide into the discharge chute and can be easily removed.

The assembly of a folded box according to the invention will now be described in more detail again with reference to the material blank in Fig. 6 .

The folded box has four side walls 26-29, the narrower sides of which are connected to each other by a fold line. The side wall 29 has an outer plate 16, with which it is connected to the side wall 26, in particular by gluing, when the material blank is assembled.

The bottom of the folded box is formed by the lower plates 22-25, whereby in the embodiment the plates 24 and 25 contain a respective folding section 20 or 21, which is glued together with the adjacent plates 22 or 23. After the material blank to be folded has been folded, the plates 22-24 thereby form the bottom of the folded box.

The functions according to the invention can now be implemented with the upper panels of the side walls. In this case, a discharge chute 12 is located on the side wall 29, which forms the lower side wall in use. It consists of a front part 13, which is located on the side wall 29 via a fold line and the side panels 14. The upper edges 17 of the front part 13 extend on both sides of the side panels into an arcuate region 30, at each end of which a projection 18 is located, which secures the discharge chute in its maximum open position.

The front side 3 is connected to the side wall 26 via a fold line. The front side is divided into an upper region 4 and a lower region 5 via a perforation line 6, with the upper region 4 being firmly connected to the side wall 26 via the roll, while the lower region 5 can be separated from the side wall 26 via a perforation line 19 running in the roll region.

The upper region 4 has a mounting plate 11 which can be inserted into a slot 9 in a plate 31 located in the rolling region of the opposite side surface 28.

The folded box is assembled as follows:

After unfolding and folding down the bottom, the discharge chute 12 is initially folded together with its side plates 14. The carton is now filled through the still open area above the discharge chute. The plates 31 and 32 are then folded together and the front 3 is folded over the side plates 31 and 32 and the discharge chute 12 is folded and secured by inserting the securing plates 11 into the slot 9.

Opening now takes place by removing the area 5 that acts as a freshness seal and opening the discharge chute 12.

Claims (11)

1. A sales package designed as a collapsible box and comprising a fold-out discharge chute, characterized in that the collapsible box has a reclosable wall portion. 2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the collapsible box is made of cardboard and/or paperboard, in particular corrugated cardboard. 3. A package according to claim 1, characterized in that the discharge chute has a hinged front wall and side plates which, when the chute is closed, are inserted into the collapsible box, the chute includes a roller and the hinged front wall of the chute is connected via the roller to the lower part of the side wall of the collapsible box, wherein the side plates of the chute preferably have a projection which, when the chute is opened, is brought into contact with the wall part of the collapsible box, preventing the chute from opening further. 4. A package according to claim 1, characterized in that the chute comprises a partial area of a wall section of the collapsible box, preferably in the lower part of the front side of the collapsible box and/or the chute is engaged with its upper partial area of the front side under the second wall section of the collapsible box. 5. A package according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the channel is covered by a separable wall portion which acts as a freshness seal. 6. A package according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the reclosable wall part preferably has a side plate which is pressed into a slot to close the collapsible box. 7. A package according to claim 6, characterized in that the reclosable wall portion is located above the chute. 8. A package according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the collapsible box has a front side with perforations which divide the front side into two regions, in which preferably the first region is connected to the side wall of the collapsible box via a roller and the second region via perforations, the perforation line preferably being a cut line made in one of the sub-regions acting as an opening plate and/or preferably the first region has formed a resealable collapsible section and/or the second region has formed a separable wall section acting as a freshness seal. 9. A package according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the collapsible box has ventilation openings, which are preferably made as cutouts in one or more wall regions of the collapsible box, the cutouts preferably being in the shape of the product to be packaged. 10. A package according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the filling weight of the package is 0.5 to 10 kg, preferably 1 to 5 kg. 11. A package according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the collapsible box is cuboid-shaped, in which the sides of the cuboid have a length of 8 to 80 cm, preferably 10 to 50 cm.
