Abstract

El carbón activado se vuelve más estable térmicamente mediante la exposición a un aditivo no halogenado, y opcionalmente a un halógeno y/o compuesto que contiene halógeno. Tal carbón tratado es adecuado para su uso en la mitigación del contenido de sustancias tóxicas en los gases de escape, especialmente los gases de escape que tienen una temperatura dentro del rango de desde aproximadamente 100 ºC hasta aproximadamente 420 ºC.
