Abstract

The material is ground in a water-immiscible liquid that is heavier than water and lighter than the material being mined. A liquid column is used for desalination and rinsing, which makes it possible to carry out desalination effectively by freezing and provides the possibility of rinsing with the possibility of reuse of the extracted minerals or combustible materials. The liquid column contains alternating layers of water-immiscible liquids and aqueous solutions that form a vertical density gradient (discrete or continuous) and contains a lower freezing zone, ice from which floats to the upper thawing zone.
