Abstract
Wind instrument valve (Fig. 1), in which the piston action is normally produced by spring force (Fig. 2) is modified in such a manner that the piston force is produced by 2 flat magnets with the poles positioned so the magnets repel one another (Fig. 3). In this way, the desired piston action is achieved. <IMAGE>
