Abstract

1. A sealing head (1) for sealing a covering film (8) to the rim (6) of a vessel, in particular to the rim (6) of a glass vessel (5), consisting of a deformable heatable metal disc (9) provided with slots (27) extending substantially radially towards the centre, characterised in that the slots (27) divide up the metal disc (9) into a plurality of narrow lamellae (25) connected to the metal disc (27) along the perimeter and in that the lamellae (25) are connected with the metal disc (9) at the peripheral point of attachment by means of a narrow bridge (31) formed through a reduction in cross-section.
