Abstract

The present invention relates to a wind turbine having a tower and one or more rotor blades connected with a hub, comprising a main bearing system to which the hub is connected, and a structure connected with the tower and comprising a first projecting part extending in an angle from the tower towards the rotor blades. The main bearing system is at least partly suspended from the first projecting part of the structure for at least transferring a main part of Ioads generated by the rotor blades during a rotation of the rotor blades to the tower.

Claims (21)

1. A wind turbine having a tower and one or more rotor blades connected with a hub, comprising - a main bearing system to which the hub is connected, and - a structure connected with the tower and comprising a first projecting part extending in an angle from the tower towards the rotor blades, wherein the main bearing system is at least partly suspended from the first projecting part of the structure for at least transferring a main part of loads generated by the rotor blades during a rotation of the rotor blades to the tower.
2. A wind turbine according to claim 1, wherein the main bearing system is suspended from the structure during operation of the wind turbine.
3. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the structure has a first end which is connected with the tower and a second end arranged closest to the rotor blades, and wherein one or more stiffening means is/are connected with the first end of the structure and the second end of the structure.
4. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein one or more stiffening means is/are connected with the first end of the structure and the main bearing system.
5. A wind turbine according to any of claims 3 or 4, wherein the stiffening means is/are detachably connected.
6. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the main bearing system is detachably suspended from the structure.
7. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the main bearing system is suspended by at least one detachable fastening means, such as a cradle, belts, jig, bolts, pins or the like
8. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein crane rails are arranged in connection with the structure.
9. A wind turbine according to claim 8, wherein the crane rails are arranged substantially horizontally.
10. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein other components, such as the shaft, generator, transformer, gearbox, etc. is/are suspended from the structure.
11. A wind turbine according to claim 10, wherein the components are directly or indirectly connected to each other.
12. A wind turbine according to any of claims 10 to 11, wherein the components are releasably connected with each other so that each component can be lowered independently of the others.
13. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the structure has at least one through-going opening arranged above the main bearing system so that the main bearing system can be accessed through the structure.
14. A wind turbine according to claim 13, wherein the structure has one or more through-going openings arranged above other suspended components so that the components can be accessed through the structure.
15. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the structure comprises a second projecting part extending in an angle from the tower away from the rotor blades.
16. A wind turbine according to claim 15, wherein one or more components are suspended from the second projecting part.
17. A wind turbine according to any of the claims 15 or 16, wherein a torque tube is arranged through a part of the structure.
18. A wind turbine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the structure comprises several attachment points for hoisting or lowering the main bearing system or other components by means of winches or other train systems.
19. A wind turbine according to claim 1, wherein the main bearing system comprises at least a main bearing connecting the hub and the main shaft.
20. A method for mounting the main bearing system or other components on a wind turbine according to any of the claims 1 to 19, the method comprising the steps of: - positioning the main bearing system or component below the structure on the ground, - placing at least one lifting wire on the structure, - securing the lifting wire on the main bearing system or component, - hoisting the main bearing system or component directly to below the structure, and - fastening the main bearing system or component to the structure so that the main bearing system or component is suspended from the structure.
21. A method for dismounting the main bearing or other components from a wind turbine according to any of the claims 1 to 19, the method comprising the steps of: - placing at least one lifting wire on the structure, - securing the lifting wire on the main bearing system or component, - unfastening the main bearing system or component from the structure, and - lowering the main bearing system or component directly from the structure to the ground.
