Abstract

The drive shaft (6) may be rotated, and is centrally positioned inside the largest tube (7). The middle tube is a spindle tube (3) with an external thread engaging a nut (2) on the end of the rotationally fixed largest tube. - The spindle tube rotates with the drive shaft and may move axially with respect to the drive shaft. The spindle tube has an internal thread (4) of opposite hand to the external thread. It engages an external thread on a non-rotating spindle (5), which forms the smallest tube. Rotating the shaft moves the tubes from their nested configuration to their fully extended configuration. Rollers reduce the friction of longitudinal movement to a minimum.
