The production relates to a message device for mailboxes so that it can be ascertained at a distance and without opening the mailbox whether the throw-in limb has been activated.

In the known mailboxes, it is a problem that one cannot know whether the mail has been loaded or not and thus one may go in vain and open the mailbox several times, believing or hoping that the mail has come.

With the creation, it is desired to provide a device which visually and / or electronically indicates that mail is loaded in the mailbox.

This is achieved by placing a flag on the side of the mailbox on a small rod which is heaviest at one end. The rod is pivotally positioned and so balanced that a small pawl on the insertion latch releases the heavy end of the rod, after which it rotates with the flag to a vertical position.

The operation is as follows:

Fig. 1 shows the post detector 1 with the counterweight 2, the flag 3 and the rotation hole 4. The post detector can optionally be molded in one piece and thicker at one end.

The principle is that the mail detector with the mailbox empty rests with the counterweight 2 resting on the pallet 5, as shown in Fig. 5, and when the mail pulls the opening flap 7, which is hinged at the bottom bottom, the counterweight 2 and 5 the post detector swings to a vertical position around the focal point 4.
