Die üblichen an Kraftfahrzeugen befindlichen Scheinwerfer bestrahlen die Fahrstrasse nur gerade nach vorn, so dass eine Wegkurve nicht beleuchtet werden kann, bevor das Kraftfahrzeug eine seitliche Wendung ausgeführt hat. Um die rechtzeitige Beleuchtung der Kurven zu erreichen, ist ausser den üblichen Scheinwerfern ein Doppelscheinwerfer vor oder auf dem Kühler angebracht. Dieser Doppelscheinwerfer a strahlt das Licht nach beiden Seiten aus, so dass eine Wegkurve beleuchtet werden kann, bevor die Vorderräder des Fahrzeuges eine Schwenkung ausgeführt haben.
