Description

Use of detergents with a content of fluorescent compounds The subject of the patent 731558 are detergents for textiles with a content of fiber-affine aminostilbene compounds which contain one or more 1,3,5-triazine rings in the molecule. With these detergents, the whiteness of the white laundry is considerably increased in a simple washing process and the color is more vivid and clearer in the case of colored laundry. The subject of the patent 746569 is the use of sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid salts of fiber-affine compounds der.Formel X-NH-CO-NH-aryl-CH = CH-aryl-NH-CO-NH-X, in which X is hydrogen or any organic radical means as a lightening agent for organic substances, e.g. B. soap, or as a lightening agent for textiles in detergent-containing liquors. The present invention now relates to the use of such detergents containing fluorescent compounds for washing textiles which, as fluorescent compounds, contain at least two water-soluble synthetic compounds which have at least two benzene residues and which form colorless or almost colorless solutions when applied to the textile material cause this in daylight a predominantly blue, blue-green or blue-violet fluorescence and are derived from aminostilbene compounds or their derivatives or are sulfonic or carboxylic acids derived from benzidine or its derivatives, with aminos.tilbene compounds containing one or more z, 3.5 -Tiazine rings in the molecule, and sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid salts of compounds of the formula X-NH-CO-NH-aryl-CH = CH-aryl-NH-CO-NH-X, in which X is hydrogen or any organic radical, with exception of. Among the substances on which benzidine is based, bis- (p-dimethylaminobenzoyl) -benzidine-3,3'-disulfonic acid or bis- (2,4-dioxy-z, 3, 5-triazinyl - (6) -4- aminobenzoyl) benzidine-3,3'-disulfonic acid into consideration. The compounds to be used according to the invention are fiber-affine.

When cleaning textiles with the detergents according to the invention, z. B. in the house wash or in the manufacture of synthetic fibers in the synthetic fiber factories, Not only will the dirt adhering to the textiles be removed, it will be too The whiteness of the textiles is so considerably improved without a special operation - that the textile materials give the impression of chemically bleached textiles. at Dyed textiles are treated with the detergents according to the invention often achieved a livelier and clearer shade. Detergent with such fluorescent Compounds which have reactive groups, such as diazotizable or couplable Groups, included, are in cases where a subsequent dyeing of the textiles is provided, disadvantageous because then disturbances can occur during dyeing.

The content of fluorescent compounds in the invention Detergents to be used are dimensioned in such a way that they relate to the detergents the textiles to be treated absorb as much of the fluorescent compounds that the textiles appear normally white in daylight. Among the detergents are in the present case to understand soaps and other surface-active compounds, as, for example, in the work »Textile Auxiliaries« by August C h w a 1 a, Vienna, 1939, Section B (p. 155 to z83).

There are already soaps with a content of fluorescent compounds, such as esculin, eosin and fluorescein, have been described, but such Detergents do not improve the whiteness of textiles.
