Description
Process for improving the fastness properties of dyed Textile material The subject of patent 973 954 is a method for improving the Fastness properties of dyed textile material, especially cellulose fiber material, in which the material colored in the usual way with aqueous solutions, emulsions or suspensions of salts or quaternary ammonium compounds of polymers or copolymers of a vinylimidazole is treated.
It has now been found that the mode of action of the polymers mentioned can still be increased and, at the same time, more true colorations are obtained, if the dyeings are also done with water-soluble salts of copper and cobalt or nickel treated, either before or after treatment with the polymerizates, expediently, however, takes place simultaneously with this.
Suitable salts of copper, cobalt or nickel are, for example their sulfates, chlorides or acetates or the corresponding salts with aromatic Oxycarboxylic acids. Example 1 IOC> g one with 3 g Benzoechtscharlach_4 BA (see S c h u l t z, color tables, 7th edition; 193 z, no.3o6) colored Cotton fabric is in 41 water, the 3 g of the poly-N-vinylimidazole and dimethyl sulfate available quaternary ammonium compound and contains 2 g of copper sulfate, 25 minutes Treated at 25 to 30 °. After rinsing and drying, a geal-tinged brown color is obtained Fabric that is characterized by good wet fastness and good light fastness.
Beispiel 2 1oo-g eines mit 2 g Benzobraun '1VIC (vgl. Schultz, a. a. Example 2 100 g of a viscose wool yarn dyed with 2 g of Benzobraun '1VIC (cf. Schultz, op. Cit., N1.412) are dissolved in 2 liters of water, and the 2 g of the copolymer of N-vinylim: idazole and maleic acid made quaternized with dimethyl sulfate contains diethyl ester and 1 g of copper acetate, treated for 30 minutes at 2o to 3o °. After the usual finishing, a brown-dyed Zel.lwollgarn with good light fastness and good wet fastness is obtained.
Schultz, a. a. Schultz, a. a. Schultz, a. a. Example 3 100 g of a viscose areyon fabric dyed with 4 g of direct deep black EW extra (cf. Schultz, loc. Cit., N1.671) are mixed in 2 l of water, the 6 g of the copolymer made of N-vinylimidazole and acrylonitrile and 2 g Contains copper chloride, treated for 20 minutes at 30 °. After the usual finishing, a viscose rayon fabric dyed with a reddish black and having good fastness properties is obtained. Example 4 Zoo g of a cotton strand dyed with 2 g of brilliant benzo blue 6B (cf. Schultz, loc. Cit., No .: 510) are dissolved in 2 l of water, the 2 g of the copolymer made quaternized with dimethyl sulfate of N-vinylimidazole and N-vinylpyrrolidone and 2 g copper acetate, treated for 30 minutes at 2o to 30 °. After the usual finishing, a blue-green colored cotton strand with good fastness properties is obtained. Example 5 Zoo g of a cotton strand dyed with 2 g of brilliant benzo blue 6B (cf. Schultz, loc. Cit., No. 51o) are mixed in 2 l of water which contains 2 g of poly-N-vinylimidazole quaternized with dimethyl sulphate and 2 g of cobalt sulphate, 30 Treated at @ 25 ° for minutes. A blue-dyed cotton strand with good fastness properties is obtained in this way.
The same can be used in place of cobalt sulphate with the same success Use amount of nickel sulphate.
