Es hat sich gezeigt, daß beim Härtungsvorgang des Gußkörpers eine gewisse Selbsterwärmung auftritt, die bei größeren Gußkörpern so hoch sein kann, daß infolge Rißbildung die Öldruckfestigkeit des Gußkörpers nicht mehr gewährleistet ist. Man könnte nun die auftretende Wärme durch besondere Kühlvorrichtungen, z. B. entsprechend, ausgebildete Gießformen, abführen, doch würde hierdurch die Herstellung der Gußkörper erschwert, so daß der wesentliche Vorteil der gehäuselosen Muffen und Endverschlüsse, nämlich die Einfachheit ihrer Herstellung, verlorenginge.Such cable fittings are mainly used for oil and earth cables, their resistance to oil pressure being particularly important since, in addition to their ability to be used cold, the blocking effect of the potting compounds is of particular advantage.
