Description

Process for the production of cable sleeves or terminations without a housing made of cold-curing synthetic resin mixed with inorganic fillers. The invention refers to a process for the production of cable sleeves or terminations without a housing, the one made of a cast body made of cold-curing, mixed with inorganic fillers Synthetic resin, e.g. B. polyester resin or ethoxylin resin exist.

Such cable fittings are mainly used for oil and earth cables, their resistance to oil pressure being particularly important since, in addition to their ability to be used cold, the blocking effect of the potting compounds is of particular advantage. It has been shown that during the hardening process of the cast body a certain amount of self-heating occurs, which in the case of larger cast bodies can be so high that the oil pressure resistance of the cast body is no longer guaranteed as a result of cracking. You could now the heat generated by special cooling devices, such. B. appropriately, trained casting molds, but this would make the production of the castings more difficult, so that the main advantage of the housing-less sleeves and terminations, namely the simplicity of their manufacture, would be lost.

The invention has the object of easily manufactured cable sleeves or - Terminations with low self-heating during hardening and one good To enable oil pressure resistance. According to the invention, the hardening Reduce the amount of heat generated if, in addition to the inorganic fillers, cured Cold cast chunks, which have the same composition as the finished cast bodies, are inserted into the hardening cast. The lumps namely displace heat-generating Raw resin and act as heat ballast; so that the maximum temperature resulting from the hardening is significantly reduced.

The cold cast chunks can have any size and shape. In an expedient further development, the cold cast chunks have a tetrahedral shape of about 20 mm edge length or hemispherical shape of about ao mm in diameter.

The advantage of adding cold cast chunks in as large a number as possible lies in the fact that a good oil pressure resistance even with large castings is achieved in a relatively simple manner.
