Es sind sehr viele Formen von Physik- und Elektronikbaukästen im Handel erhältlich.
In der Regel bestehen sie aus einer Grundplatte aus Kunststoff und Halterungen für
Bauteile aus dem gleichen Material.
Die für einen Versuch oder eine Schaltung benötigten Bauelemente werden entweder
direkt in die Grundplatte gesteckt, oder über die Halterung und einen speziellen
Verbindungsmechanismus darauf befestigt.There are many different types of physics and electronics kits available on the market. They usually consist of a plastic base plate and holders for components made of the same material.

Gemeinsam ist den mir bekannten Baukästen jedoch, daß die Herstellung der Grund platte und und der Plastikhalterungen nur mit Hilfe von Maschinen zur Kunstoffverar beitung möglich ist. Diese stehen aber einem Lehrer, oder gar einem Schüler, der den Baukasten um eigene Versuchsanordnungen erweitern will, normalerweise nicht zur Verfügung. Und selbst wenn ihm eine Spritzguß- oder Tiefziehmaschine zur Verfügung stände, so sind die Kosten für die benötigten Formwerkzeuge so hoch, daß eine Erweiterung des Baukastens durch den Anwender nicht sinnvoll ist. Ein pädagogisch wertvoller Baukasten sollte aber den Schüler zu eigenem Basteln und Experimentieren animieren. In Fig. 2 ist unter 3 ein solches Trägerelement - in die Fürungsschiene eingerastet dargestellt Unter oder auch auf den Trägerelementen können die elektronischen Bauteileangebrachte werden.
