Diese Erleichterung der Betriebsüberwachung der Kraftfahrzeuge wird jedoch in Frage gestellt dadurch, daß keine Sicherheit besteht, daß die Warnlampe im gegebenen Fall funktionsfähig ist. Sie kann durchgebrannt oder in ihrer Fassung gelockert sein, oder eine Zuleitung zur Warnlampe kann gelöst oder gebrochen sein. Man hat daher schon vorgeschlagen, zu den Schaltkontakten für die Warnlampen Prüf- oder Kontrollschalter parallel zu legen, um jederzeit die Funktionsfähigkeit der Warnlampen prüfen zu können. Nach der Erfindung wird die Funktion der Kontrollschaltung mit der Betätigung des Zündschlosses verbunden, wobei der Zündschlüssel entweder als Handhabe zur Betätigung eines Sammelschalters für die Prüfleitungen oder selbst als Stromschlüssel dient. Zu diesem Zweck werden von je einem Punkt zwischen einer Warnlampe und ihrem zugehörigen Warnkontakt eine Leitung zu einem Sammelschalter geführt, dessen Kontaktbrücke durch den Zündschlüssel des Fahrzeugs betätigt wird und mit dem gleichen Pol der Fahrzeugbatterie wie die Kontakte verbunden ist.
