Die Erfindung betrifft eine Domstrebe zur Versteifung selbsttragender Karosserien von Kraftfahrzeugen mit an beiden Strebenenden vorgesehenen Stützorganen für die Befestigung an der Karosserie.The invention relates to a strut brace for reinforcing self-supporting bodies of motor vehicles with support elements provided at both ends of the brace for fastening to the body.

Selbsttragende Karosserien von Personenkraftfahrzeugen sind im allgemeinen aus Stahlblech hergestellt und so ausgebildet, daß sie den im normalen Fahrbetrieb auftretenden Belastungen statischer und dynamischer Art standhalten, so daß die Sicherheit der Insassen gewährleistet ist. Es gibt jedoch Anwendungsfälle, bei denen die Karosserie nicht ausreichend formstabil ist, insbesondere dann, wenn das Fahrzeug für sportliche Zwecke verwendet wird. Zur zusätzlichen Versteifung der Karosserie werden in diesem Fall Domstreben verwendet, die quer zur Fahrzeuglängsachse im Motorraum, im Kofferraum oder in der Fahrgastzelle eingebaut werden. Dabei werden die Stützorgane an zwei gegenüberliegenden Stellen der Karosserie befestigt, so daß die erforderlichen Gegenlager für die Strebenenden festliegen. Anschließend wird die Domstrebe eingebaut, wobei auf eine genaue Fluchtung der Strebenlängsachse mit den Befestigungspunkten an den Stützorganen geachtet werden muß.Self-supporting bodies of passenger vehicles are generally made of sheet steel and designed to withstand the static and dynamic loads that occur during normal driving, so that the safety of the occupants is guaranteed. Anschließend werden die beiden Kugelpfannen 28 mittels ihrer Gewindebuchsen 32 auf die Gewindebolzen 34 an den beiden Strebenenden aufgeschraubt, bis die erforderliche Länge der Domstrebe erreicht ist; diese Länge entspricht dem Abstand der beiden Stützorgane 16 quer zur Fahrzeuglängsachse.
