Description

The innovation concerns a container for holding a drinking bottle for a bicycle in accordance with the generic term of claim 1.

Cycling, especially sporty cycling with racing bikes or mountain bikes, leads to rapid fluid loss for the rider, as the effort is great and the sweat that escapes is quickly dried by the wind. In order to prevent a loss of physical fitness, it is therefore necessary to compensate for fluid loss by drinking when cycling sportily. For this purpose, it is common practice to carry drinking bottles in holders on the bike. But even when cycling less sportily, especially on a longer bike trip, refreshment by drinking a drink that you have brought with you is pleasant.

A known disadvantage of drinking bottles attached to bicycle holders is that a drink carried in this way takes on higher outside temperatures after a relatively short time and is too warm to provide pleasant refreshment. In addition, most soft drinks are not intended to be consumed when warm and then usually taste stale and unpleasant.

Known holders for drinking bottles are firmly attached to the bike and usually consist of thin rods, grids or a perforated material, with the drinking bottles being inserted into a receiving opening that is open at the top.

The aim of the innovation, however, is to further develop a container for holding a drinking bottle for a bicycle in such a way that a drink carried along is cooled or remains cool.

This object is achieved with the characterizing features of claim 1.

According to claim 1, the container has a fastening device with which it can be connected to the bicycle firmly, but easily detachable by hand. The container is thus designed in such a way that it can be removed from the bicycle and reconnected to it easily, quickly and in just a few steps.

The container has walls on all sides and an openable lid to accommodate the drinking bottle. A drinking bottle filled with a drink placed in the container is thus surrounded on all sides by the container walls and is therefore completely shielded from the outside environment when the lid is closed.

An essential aspect of the innovation is that these walls and/or the lid or at least parts of them are made of a material for storing cold energy.

Such materials that store cold energy are known per se and are used, for example, in so-called "cooling pads". These are media that are sealed in pillow-shaped plastic films and are liquid when warm but solid when cooled. Such cooling pads are offered in conjunction with thermally insulated cooling bags. The cooling pads are placed in the refrigerator for longer periods of time, e.g. overnight, where they absorb cold energy and are "charged". When using the cooling bag, the cooling pads are packed in the cooling bag in a charged state together with the goods to be cooled, where they release their cold energy and only heat up slowly while cooling the surrounding goods. This is an active cooling effect from the cooling pads, which significantly increases the cooling effect through the thermal insulation of the cooling bag.

According to the innovation, at least part of the container should now be constructed with such or similar media, giving it the following function:

If the cooling effect of the container is desired, it is removed from the bike using the easily removable fastening device and placed in the refrigerator, preferably in a freezer compartment, for a certain charging time. There, the material that stores cold energy absorbs cold energy. To do this, the container lid is opened so that cold energy, especially from the inside of the container, can reach the walls.

When you start your bike ride, you take the container out of the fridge and use the fastening device to quickly and easily reconnect it to the bike. A drinking bottle, which should also be pre-cooled, can now be placed in the container. By releasing cold energy from the container walls to the drinking bottle, the bottle and its contents are kept cool for a long time, even at high outside temperatures.

A cool refreshment from the new, cool drinking bottle is a welcome, pleasant refreshment for both sporty cyclists and on cycling tours with the family.

The new container is also simple, lightweight and inexpensive to manufacture, so that its use has no noticeable disadvantages compared to the known holders for drinking bottles.

According to claim 2, it is advantageous to surround the walls and/or the lid of the container on the outside with a thermal insulation layer. This insulates the container on the outside and the stored cold energy is used up less quickly and is essentially released to the inside of the container, i.e. towards the drinking bottle. This increases and extends the cooling effect.

The thermal insulation can consist of a separately manufactured outer container or stocking that surrounds the cooling container. However, the cooling container can also have a thermal insulation layer firmly attached to it on its outside, which can, for example, be sprayed on as a layer. Well-known materials, such as closed-cell foams, are suitable as thermal insulation materials.

Since thermal insulation layers have a soft, flexible surface due to air inclusions, the new container is also correspondingly soft, which reduces the risk of injury in the event of a fall and contributes to accident prevention.

According to claim 3, depending on the cooling medium used, it can be advantageous to form the walls in several layers, in particular double-walled, and to introduce the cooling medium between these layers. This is particularly expedient according to claim 4 if the layers are sealed against each other and a cooling medium that is liquid at least when warm is introduced into the

According to claim 5, plastics can be used as manufacturing materials, which makes production simple and cost-effective. In addition, the choice of such materials ensures that the container is resistant to environmental influences.

An easily detachable fastening device, which at the same time ensures a firm hold, is proposed in claim 6 in the form of a dovetail profile. One profile part is firmly connected to the bicycle, while the other profile part is a fixed part of the container.

However, according to claim 7, other fastening devices known per se, such as detachable snap-in or Velcro fasteners, can also be used.

Since the fastening device for the container can be easily and quickly released, there is a risk that the container can easily be stolen if a bicycle is parked. Therefore, according to claim 8, a lockable lock is provided on the fastening device with which the detachable connection can be locked.

Fig. 1 shows a side view of part of a bicycle 1, with a bicycle frame 2 and a front wheel 3. A container 6 for holding a drinking bottle is attached to a frame tube 4 pointing diagonally downwards with the help of two clamps 5.

The clamps 5 hold the bicycle-side part of a dovetail connection 7, as shown enlarged in the top view in Fig. 2. The dovetail profile consists of a first profile part 8, which is firmly connected to the bicycle, and a second profile part 9, which is part of the container and is attached to its back. To release and fasten, the profile parts are simply moved against each other in the longitudinal direction.

In order to protect this connection against theft, a lock 11 that can be locked with a key 10 is provided on the profile part 9, which secures the connection with the help of a rotatable bolt 12.

In Fig. 3, the container 6 is shown enlarged in its side view, whereby it can be seen that it is separated by walls

The internal structure of the container 6 can be seen from the cross-sectional view in Fig. 4:

The interior forms the receiving space 16 for an insertable drinking bottle. Such a drinking bottle is expediently adapted to the volume of the receiving space 16 and a suitable outer diameter is schematically shown with the dashed line 17.

A layer 18 adjoins the receiving space 16 on the outside. This layer is double-walled and filled with a cooling medium that can store a lot of cold energy. This cooling layer 18 is surrounded on its outside by a thermal insulation layer 19 in order to concentrate the cold energy as much as possible inwards towards the receiving space 16.

The arrangement shown has the following function:

In order to achieve a cooling function of the container 6, the lock 11 is opened with the key 10, the dovetail connection 7 is loosened and the container 6 is placed in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator. The lid 14 is expediently opened so that the cooling layer 18 is freely accessible to the cold from the inside of the receiving space 16. The cooling layer 18 absorbs cold energy and is thus "charged." When the journey begins, the container 6 is taken out of the refrigerator and reconnected to the bicycle 1 via the dovetail connection 7. A drink, which is also expediently pre-cooled, can now be put in a drinking bottle in the container 6 and the lid 14 closed. By releasing the cooling energy from the cooling layer 18 to the drinking bottle and the drink, the latter is kept cool for a long time even at high outside temperatures. To drink, all you have to do is open the lid 14 and take the drinking bottle out of the container 6 and then put it back in again.

In summary, it is stated that the innovation provides a simple and practical container for cooling drinks carried on the bicycle.

Claims (8)

Expectations 1. Container for holding a drinking bottle for a bicycle, characterized in that that the container (6) has a fastening device (7) with which it can be firmly connected to the bicycle (1) but can be easily released by hand, that the container (6) encloses a receiving space (16) for the drinking bottle (17) on all sides with walls (13) and an openable lid (14) and that at least parts (18) of the walls (13) or the cover (14) consist of a material for storing cold energy. 2. Container according to claim 1, characterized in that the walls (13) and/or the lid (14) are surrounded on the outside by a thermal insulation layer (19). 3. Container according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the walls (13) and/or the lid (14) are constructed in several layers, in particular double-walled, and a medium (18) for storing cold energy is introduced between the layers.
