Man erkennt, daß die Erfindung jedenfalls dann verwirklicht ist, wenn die Schutzvorrichtung aus einem herkömmlichen, Schläge und Stöße aufnehmenden Kunst st off-Schaumstoff besteht, bei der die Elemente nicht separat und hinterher mit der Unterlage verbunden werden, sondern z.B. durch Einschneiden von keilförmigen Nuten in einen Rohling gebildet werden. Diese Nuten werden sodann mit einem anderen Kunststoff ausgeschäumt, dessen Aufgabe es ist, die Betriebslage der Elemente zu gewährleisten. Die Schutzvorrichtung 10 ist einstückig ausgebildet und besteht aus demselben Werkstoff. Die Elemente 22 bis 28 werden im Zuge der Bildung der Nuten durch Einschneiden in einen flachquaderförmigen Rohling aus elastisch verformbaren Kunst st off-Schaumstoff hergestellt. Für diese Zwecke wird insbesondere in offenporiger Kunst st off-Schaumstoff verwendet, dessen spezifisches Gewicht etwa 100 kg/l^m3 beträgt. Man erkennt, daß die Elemente 22 bis 28 mit Abstand zueinander angeordnet sind und sich nach oben zu von der Unterlage 12 weg verjüngen. Daher ist es möglich, die Schutzvorrichtung zu verformen (vgl. Fig. 2), ohne die Form der Elemente wesentlich zu verändern. Dieses Zwischenprodukt wird dann in seiner Form insofern verändert, als daraus Polster für Schutzanzüge für Motorradfahrer zugeschnitten werden.
