Device for storing or storing printed matter

The present invention relates to a device for feeding or storing printed matter or the like with a folding line into, for example, folders with clamps, wherein holes, rings or the like are provided for receiving the clamps.

Devices for filing or storing papers or documents etc. are widely known on the market and are offered in a wide variety of designs.

Folders, ring binders or similar with an organization mechanism that is suitable for storing papers and documents or similar that have appropriate holes are particularly widespread and used. However, if you want to store papers, especially printed matter, magazines, brochures, drawings or catalogs, without first punching holes in them, you either have to resort to special folders with auxiliary devices that are of course also available on the market.

On the one hand, there are the well-known transparent covers, where the edges have corresponding holes and into which you can put flat pieces of paper. However, these covers are usually so flat that only a limited number of pieces of paper can fit in them.

Likewise, for example, perforated, cardboard-like carrier pages are known for filing pictures, certificates, documents or the like, onto which a document, picture or the like can be placed, which is then held in place by covering it with a transparent film with an electrostatic property.

However, transparent folders and the latter device are only suitable for relatively flat or very flat filing. If you want to file thicker printed matter, especially magazines, catalogs, brochures, etc., you have to use folders with a special folder mechanism. Such folders with a corresponding folder mechanism are also available on the market. However, you cannot then staple papers, documents, etc. with standard hole punching into these folders.

Normally, you have to decide on one or the other type of filing, which means that you have to create different folders, which often makes it difficult or organizationally complicated to achieve the desired filing order.

In order to avoid this dilemma, the ^inventor set himself the task of creating a device that would make it possible to file printed matter, in particular magazines, catalogues, brochures, drawings or the like, into commercially available folders using the usual folder mechanism.

This problem is solved by having at least one holder extending from the rings along at least part of the fold line inside the printed matter. The middle stitching line of a printed matter should preferably serve as the fold line, whereby the holder can extend over the entire fold line. This then forms, together with an outer part on which the rings are located, an insertion slot for the printed matter.

Another embodiment according to the invention consists essentially of a single piece of wire, preferably an elastic steel wire. Rings are formed on this wire in a central area or are formed by bending it into loops. Preferably four or six rings are provided, which on the one hand lie in one plane and on the other hand are spaced apart from one another so that they can engage in the clamps of commercially available files or ring binders with two-, four- or multi-hole mechanisms. This central area mentioned above represents a straight piece of wire or a wire cutout, the length of which corresponds to slightly more than the length of a DIN A4 sheet, preferably around 30 cm.

At both ends of the straight piece there are two loop-like clasps, with these clasps being molded onto the other side of the rings.

These clasps are created by appropriately bending or edging the ends following the middle piece of wire. The bending is done in such a way that the wire ends form a kind of loop, whereby they are tautly attached to the middle piece of wire mentioned above in a certain area and then deflected again by an appropriate bend.

In a printed publication, especially in a magazine, a catalogue or similar, the clasps can define the fold line in an upper and lower area.

A device R for filing printed matter, in particular magazines, brochures, catalogs, leaflets, drawings or the like, into commercially available folders, such as ring binders, Leitz folders or the like, consists of a single piece of wire 1, preferably made of a rust-proof or corrosion-resistant steel wire, as shown in Figure 1. The steel wire 1 essentially has a long straight piece 2, the length 1 of which preferably corresponds to the length of a DIN A4 sheet, i.e. approximately 30 cm. To the right and left of this straight piece 1 are two bevels 3 and 4, the bevels 3 forming a right angle, while the bevels 4 have such a sharp angle that the wire ends 5 rest against the straight piece 2 in an area P. The wire ends 5 each have a bend 6 at their ends that deflects away from the straight piece 2.

On the other side of the clasp 7, four or more rings 8 are molded onto the wire along the straight piece 2 or are formed from a single piece of wire by forming a loop. The distances a between the rings 8 correspond to the distances between the clamps of conventional and commercially available folders.

The inner diameter d of the rings 8 is selected so that the rings 8 can be easily inserted into the clamps, but do not allow too much play so that the stapled printed matter remains reasonably secure. The diameter d is preferably approx. 6 mm.

According to Figure 2, for example, the clips 7 overlap a fold line 10 at the top and bottom of a magazine 9 and hold the magazine 9 in place by clamping it. According to Figure 3, for example, a magazine 9 to which a device R according to the invention is assigned can be secured in the clamps 11 of a folder 12 without the magazine having to be punched or inserted into a corresponding cover or the like.

The number of rings (8) and their spacing (a) make it possible to store them in folders with a two-hole mechanism as well as with a four-hole or multi-hole mechanism.
