Der Kessel besteht aus zwei in einander geschobenen Blechcylindern α und b. Die konischen hohlen Pfropfen d d, Fig. 3, durch welche die Röhren unten in der inneren Cylinderwand abgedichtet sind, können bei eventuellem Leckwerden der Dichtungsstellen e e mittelst der durch die Reinigungslochdeckel der äufseren Kesselwand gehenden Verdichtungsschrauben // von aufsen, ohne den Betrieb zu unterbrechen, angezogen werden. Ein derartiger Kessel mit 100 qm directer Wasserröhren-Heizfläche hat höchstens acht Dichtungsstellen, wovon die oberen vier Flantschen-Dichtungen sind. Die Ausmündungen gg, Fig. i, des Schraubenröhrensystems erheben sich mindestens 10 cm über den höchsten Wasserstand des Kessels, wodurch die Trennung des Dampfes von dem tropfbaren Wasser befördert werden soll.
