Description

Carbon brush for current collectors on electrical ones to be operated at great heights Machines The invention relates to carbon brushes for current collection devices on such. electrical Ma machines that are used at great heights, e.g. B. in aircraft. It deals with the elimination of such carbon brushes. observed appearance, that these wear out faster and faster with increasing height. For flights in particularly great height extends z. B. a coal set in an aircraft generator only for a few hours. Further studies on carbon brushes have shown that the wear and tear at particularly low humidity, as is usually the case in, large Altitudes prevail, eats much larger than with normal humidity. It has It also turned out that the brushes could also be pre-soaked with paraffin can reduce brush wear in dry conditions.

However, impregnation with paraffin requires that the brush temperature does not rise significantly above the melting point of the paraffin, otherwise the impregnation sweat out of the coal very quickly.

According to the present invention is therefore for carbon brushes for to be used in electrical machines to be operated at great heights., An impregnation with an oil, high viscosity and low evaporation is provided. An oil that! Conditions particularly well, is z. B. the so-called cylinder oil.

The use of this oil to impregnate the carbon brush has opposite the already mentioned paraffin has the advantage that it is under normal operating conditions Holds in the coal long enough at high altitudes and the coal spoilage when flying high to a very great extent. On the other hand, the oil opposite has continued to be conceivable Impregnating agents, such as fats, etc., have the advantage that they are used for the impregnation itself Appropriate heating of the charcoal to ensure good penetration of the impregnating agent should, in this case not have to be driven so far that the soldered to the carbon Power take-off line is desoldered when heated. With the proposed according to the invention So coal can be oil in the ready-to-install state. still to be soaked; what has a particularly beneficial effect if machines were not originally intended for heights afterwards for it; need to be pulled. The possibility of a ride with the To soak the solder cap provided coal with the suggested oil, i, st but also frame the systematic production of stepped carbons is an advantage, because the soldering c Current conduction caps on impregnated coals. sometimes very difficult ..
