Das Hologramm kann dabei den Magnet streifen entweder vollständig oder aber teilweise unter Erstellung eines bestimmten Hologramm-Musters bedecken. Das den Magnetstreifen bedeckende Hologramm beeinträchtigt in keiner Weise das magnetische Einspeichern und Auslesen von Daten in und aus dem Magnetstreifen. Außerdem ist mit Hilfe eines optischen Lesekopfes jederzeit auch maschinell das Original zu erkennen und gegebenenfalls von Falsifikaten zu unterscheiden. Neben einer unterbrochenen Anordnung des Hologramms auf dem Magnetstreifen, z.B. nach Art eines BAR-Codes, können auch zumindest Teile des Hologramms visuell oder maschinell erkennbare optische Information, wie Firraenemblerne od. dgl. enthalten.Hologram allows the reader to immediately recognize that he is holding the original document, not a copy.
