Der dargestellte Kessel besteht aus einem Wasserröhrenkessel W mit zwei Endkammern und einem quer liegenden Oberkessel O und Unterkessel U. Eine unmittelbare Rohrverbindung zwischen Ober- und Unterkessel ist nicht vorhanden, vielmehr soll die oberste Rohrreihe r für den Wasserrücklauf dienen. Da der in diesen Röhren entstehende Dampf einen der Strömung entgegenwirkenden Auftrieb von gleichbleibender Stärke bildet, so ist ein energischer Wasserumlauf nur dann möglich, wenn dampffreies Wasser mit erheblicher Geschwindigkeit in die Röhren r eintritt. Zu diesem Zwecke ist in den Oberkessel die Vorrichtung zur Beschleunigung des Wasserumlaufs nach Patent Nr. 48737 derart eingebaut, dafs der Umlauf kanal C, der die volle Breite der Kammer erhält, an der vorderen Seite des Oberkessels aufsteigt, in der ungefähren Höhe des Wasserspiegels, hier den Dampf entlassend, nach hinten führt und, an der Rückseite des Oberkessels nach unten fallend, in die Wasserkammer hinein sich fortsetzt, wo er unterhalb der obersten Rohrreihe endet. Auf diese Weise wird das Wasser mit seiner vollen Geschwindigkeit und dampffrei in die Röhren r hineingeführt und dadurch ein starker Wasserumlauf im ganzen Kessel ermöglicht.The boiler shown consists of a water tube boiler W with two end chambers and a transverse upper boiler O and lower boiler U.
