Der Papier-oder Abfallkorb kann aus Eisenblech hergestellt und feuerverzinkt oder mit einem Rostschutzanstrich versehen sein. Er kann aber auch aus jedem anderen geeigneten Werkstoff gefertigt werden und eine drei-, viereckige oder runde, ovale oder nierenförmige Form aufweisen.
