Erfindungsgemäß besteht die Versteifung aus je einem Brusttaschenbügel und einem diese beiden Bügel zwischen den Brusttaschen federnd verbindenden Mittelsteg derart, daß der Halter bei Entfaltung in die Gebrauchsstellung eine den Mittelsteg zwischen den Brüsten an den Körper drückende Vorspannung erhält. Die Brusttaschenbügel und der sie verbindende Mittelsteg sind vorzugsweise aus einem Stück federnden Werkstoffes, z. B. Stahldraht, gebogen. Der Mittelsteg bildet seinerseits einen den Brusttaschenbügeln entgegengesetzt gekrümmten schmalen Bügel. Die Außenschenkel der Taschenbügel sind gegenüber dem Mittelsteg verlängert. Die Figuren zeigen ein Ausführungsbeispiel, und zwar Fig. i die erfindungsgemäße Versteifung im Schrägriß, und zwar in einer Stellung, die die Versteifung vor dem Anlegen des Büstenhalters einnimmt, Fig. 2 den in die Gebrauchsstellung gebrachten Büstenhalter mit erfindungsgemäßer Versteifung im Aufriß, Fig. 3 den schematischen Grundriß zu Fig. 2. Wie aus Fig. i ersichtlich ist, besteht die Versteifung aus zwei Stahldrahtbügeln i und 2, die durch einen Mittelsteg 3 ebensolchen Werkstoffes verbunden sind. Die Teile 1, 2 und 3 sind aus einem Stück Stahldraht gebogen, und zwar derart, daß die Bügel i und 2 in Ruhelage, beispielsweise im rechten Winkel zu dem entgegengesetzt gekrümmten, schmalen Mittelsteg 3 stehen. Diese Versteifung ist in das Leibchen 4 (Fig. 2) des Büstenhalters derart eingearbeitet, daß die Bügel i und 2 die Brusttaschen 5 und 6 in ihrem oberen Teil umfassen, während die verlängerten Schenkel i' und 2' in das Leibchen 4 eingearbeitet sind; dasselbe gilt für die kürzeren Schenkel 3' des Mittelbügels. In Fig. 3 ist in gestrichelten Linien gezeigt, welche Stellung die Bügel i und 2 gegenüber dem Mittelbügel einnehmen, solange der Büstenhalter nicht benutzt wird. Diese Stellung entspricht der in Fig. i im Schrägriß gezeigten. Wird der Büstenhalter angelegt, so werden die die Taschen $ und 6 umfassenden Bügel i und 2 aus der gestrichelt wiedergegebenen Stellung der Fig. 3 in die ausgezogen gezeichnete Stellung geschwenkt. Dadurch entsteht in der neuen Stellung eine Vorspannung, durch welche der Mittelsteg 3 auf seiner ganzen Länge zwischen den Brüsten an den Körper gedrückt wird. Der Büstenhalter steht, im Gegensatz zu bekannten Büstenhaltern, zwischen den Brüsten nicht mehr vom Körper ab; die Brüste werden straff auseinandergehalten.
