Description

Inks To produce water-resistant inks, one usually adds weakly alkaline, aqueous solutions of alkali-soluble natural resins, such as shellac, or synthetic resins with suitable dyes, e.g. B. carbon black or basic or acidic Dyes. These solutions or suspensions dry after being applied to the Waterproof underlay.

It has now been found that inks that are very waterfast can also be used obtained when the alkali-soluble resin used in the distillation of butanediols available water-insoluble residues are used. To carry out the invention are especially suitable for the distillation of butanediol-r, q. obtained water-insoluble Residues. This can be obtained, for example, by using the crude butanediol residue with: added mineral acid and separating off the parts that are precipitated in the process. Man The low molecular weight, water-soluble ones can also be obtained from the raw butanediol residues and therefore remove volatiles by distillation and the remaining Use water-insoluble parts. A low content of water-soluble components does not affect the suitability for the production of inks. By Treat the water-insoluble residues can be removed with ammonia or other volatile bases make water soluble. The aqueous solutions thus obtained, which are still organic Solvents can be added, then with suitable dyes, expedient basic dyes, and can then be used immediately as Indian ink will.

The parts given in the example below are parts by weight. EXAMPLE About 125 parts of a resin obtained by treating the residue from the distillation of 1,4-lutanediol with hydrochloric acid are added by mixing with 20 to 30 parts of a 25% aqueous ammonia, if necessary with the addition of small amounts (approx 2%) water-soluble organic solvents such as alcohol and 500 parts of water in solution. A solution or suspension of 0.5 to 1 part of one of the dyes mentioned below in 500 parts of water is added to this solution. The resulting mixtures are ready-to-write inks that dry up to be waterproof.
