Den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildet eine Zange für thierärzfliche Zwecke, aus welcher eine Maulspreize zusammengestellt werden kann. Die Zange ist auf beiliegender Zeichnung in ihrer Verwendung für den ersteren Zweck durch die Fig. 1 in der Seitenansicht, in derjenigen für den letzteren Zweck durch die Fig. 2 und 3 in der Seiten- und Vorderansicht dargestellt. Auf den Griff der Zangenhälfte α ist ein Rohr b geschoben (Fig. 1 und 2), dessen Muttergewinde c mit dem Gewinde c¹ dieses Griffes in Eingriff steht. Ueber die Gewinde e an den Enden dieses Rohres b greift je eine Ringmutter y, Fig. 8 und 9. Aufserdem hat dieses Rohr b in der Nähe jedes. Endes je zwei derart angeordnete Bohrungeng, dais die Verbindungslinie ihrer Mittelpunkte senkrecht zur Rohrachse steht. Auf den Griff der Zangenhälfte α¹ ist ein Rohr h, Fig. 1 und 6, geschoben, dessen Muttergewinde i mit dem Gewinde k dieses Griffes in Eingriff steht (Fig. 5). Auf das Gewinde / am freien Ende dieses Rohres h ist eine Mutter m geschraubt (Fig. 1). Schliefslich ist noch vorauszusetzen, das das Gewinde der den Scharnierzapfen der Zange bildenden Schraube η mit dem Muttergewinde i des Rohres h übereinstimmt; ferner sind die Durchmesser der Bohrungen g und der Griffe gleich. Infolge dieser Einrichtung kann man nun aus den einzelnen Theilen der Zange in der folgenden Weise eine Maulspreize zusammenstellen. Das Muttergewinde i des Rohres h wird auf die in der Zangenhälfte α verbleibende Schraube η geschraubt, der Gewindezapfen Z dieses Rohres aber durch die Bohrung 0 der Zangenhälfte a^l geschoben und mittelst der Mutter m befestigt. Nach Parallelstellung der beiden Griffe werden dieselben durch je zwei Bohrungen g des Rohres b hindurchgeschoben. Das Feststellen dieses Rohres b auf den Griffen wird durch dessen Mutter/ ermöglicht, indem deren Ränder in je zwei Nuthen ρ der Griffe eintreten. Des bequemeren Festlegens der Maulspreize am Thierkopfe wegen sind in beiden Maulhälften der Zange Schlitze q vorgesehen.As a result of this arrangement, one can now assemble a jaw spreader from the individual parts of the forceps in the following manner.
