Außerdem war die Verlegung nur in Faserrichtung möglich, wodurch das Quellen oder Schwinden der Bretter sich, unliebsam bemerkbar machen konnte. Bei ungünstigen Längen oder größeren Flächen mußten die Profilbretter stumpf gestoßen werden. Die dabei sich zeigenden Fugen und verschiedenartige Maserung wurde als sehr störend empfunden. Dadurch, daß das Querprofil die gleichen Maße wie das Längsprofil hat, sind beim Stoßen der Bretter keinerlei Fugen sichtbar. Eine verschiedenartige Maserung wird durch das Profil unterbrochen, sodaß diese nicht mehr störend, sodern angenehm empfunden wird. Die Längen und Breiten dieser Profilbretter werden so gehalten, daß diese ohne nennenswerten Schnittverlust für jede Fläche verlegt werden können. Das Gesamtbild, einer mit diesen Profilbretter verlegte Fläche wirkt wohnlich angenehm und ist durch das Hirnholzprofil zusätzlich schalldämmend.
