Abstract

The invention relates to a belt for trousers, skirts or the like, of the type comprising a strap (1), particularly made from leather, provided with a buckle (2) at one end and with interacting holes at the other end. The buckle is fastened forward with two tongues (5), particularly made from leather; a resilient strip is arranged between these tongues in order to form a resilient join between the strap and said tongues. The strap is equipped with an oblong opening (14) which is traversed by a linking member (15) between tongues. This member is adapted in order to be able to slide in the said opening when the tongues and the strap are stressed in longitudinal traction. The belt according to the invention has a longitudinal extensibility which considerably increases its comfort, while benefiting from a traditional top-of-the-range appearance and behaviour which is comparable with that of a non-extensible belt. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft einen neuen Gürtel für Hosen, Röcke oder ähnliches. Insbesondere betrifft sie einen qualitativ hochwertigen Gürtel aus Leder oder einem ähnlichen Material.The invention relates to a new belt for trousers, skirts or the like. Zwecks Erhöhung ihres Komforts hat man gewisse Gürtel mit einem Abschnitt versehen, der ihrer Länge nach im allgemeinen in Nähe der Schnalle angeordnet ist (Patent US 1.180.908). Diese sehr alten Systeme haben den Nachteil, daß sie den Gürteln ein nicht herkömmliches Aussehen vermitteln, wobei die besagten Gürtel dazu neigen, sich im Bereich des elastischen Abschnitts zu verdrehen oder zu verwinden. Um diesen Nachteil zu verringern, hat man gewisse Gürtel mit Federsystemen ausgestattet, die mit der Gürtelschnalle in Verbindung stehen (Patente US 2.629.104, US 2.659.895, US 1.707.562, GB 589.119). Claims

1/- Belt for trousers, skirts or the like, comprising a strap (1) with a buckle (2) at one end and with corresponding means (3) for attaching it around the waist at the other end, characterized in that

that buckle (2) is attached to the front end of two strips (4, 5), the rear parts of which rest on both sides of the end part of strap (1) against said strap,

that at least one elastic band (9, 10) is arranged between the two strips (4, 5), that the said band or bands are connected to the said strips at the front and to the belt (1) at the back, so that an elastic connection is created between the said belt and the said strips,

that the belt (1) is provided with an elongated slot (14) which extends lengthwise behind the elastic bands (9, 10) along a belt part covered by the strips (4, 5),

that the strips (4, 5) are connected to one another at their rear end by a connecting element (15) which extends through the slot (14) of the belt and is designed to slide within said slot when the strips (4, 5) and belt (1) are subjected to longitudinal tension.

2/- Belt according to claim 1, in which the belt (1) consists of leather or a similar material, characterized in that the strips (4, 5) are made of the same material.

3/- Belt according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the connecting element (15) comprises on the one hand a screw (16) which is composed of a head (16a) and a threaded shaft (16b), and on the other hand a nut (17) which is composed of a head (17a) and a hollow threaded shaft (17b), the heads of the screw (16a) and the nut (17a) being sides rest against the strips (4, 5), while the shafts (16b, 17b) screwed together pass through the longitudinal slot (14) of the belt and the holes provided in the strips (4, 5).

4/ - Belt according to one of claims 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that it comprises two elastic bands (9, 10) which are jointly attached to the strips (4, 5) by their front end, spanning a web (11) provided at the end of the belt (1) and being jointly attached to said belt through an opening (12) provided therein.

5/- Belt according to claim 4, characterized in that

- that the two elastic bands (9, 10) are attached by their front edge between the strips (4, 5) by means of at least one seam (6, 7) connecting the said strips to each other,

- that the belt (1) consists of at least two layers of material (1a-1c) glued together, the elastic bands (9, 10) being attached by their rear edge between said layers, by means of a seam (13) connecting said layers.

6/- Belt according to claim 5, characterized in that the two elastic bands (9, 10) consist of two strands of a length folded in half, a safety fastener (18) being provided behind the seam (13) near the fold, while the front parts of the bands are fastened by two seams (6, 7).

7/ - Belt according to one of claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, characterized in that the strips (4, 5) consist of a band of material which is folded over and sewn at its front end in order to hold the buckle (2) in place.

8/- Belt according to claims 6 and 7 together, comprising a loop (8) between the buckle retaining seam (6) and the seam (7) for fastening the elastic bands.
