3 Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the auxiliary bag (26) has four curtains (16, 19) which are arranged at right angles to one another and can be wound up or unwound on or from winding shafts (14, 15, 17, 18).

Device according to claim 3, characterized in that the winding shafts (17, 18) assigned to the two curtains (19), which extend transversely to the conveyor device (3) and parallel to the items of clothing, can be moved back and forth between a retracted position in which they do not reach between the items of clothing, and an extended position in which they reach between the items of clothing, the winding shafts (14, 15) of the two curtains (16), which extend transversely to the items of clothing, assuming a stationary position.

5. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the separating devices are further provided with protective devices (8, 9, 10, 11) which, together with the lower end of the curtains (16, 19), are movable downwards and into a position below the lower end of the curtains.

Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the protective devices have freely rotatable cylinders (8, 9, 10, 11) which delimit a rectangle, whereby the cylinders (10, 11), which extend transversely to the conveyor device (3) and parallel to the items of clothing, can be moved forwards and backwards corresponding to the respective winding shafts (17, 18), while the cylinders (8, 9), which extend parallel to the conveyor device and transversely to the items of clothing, can be moved forwards and backwards transversely to their longitudinal axis between positions in which they reach between the items of clothing and in which they do not reach between the items of clothing.

7. Device according to claim 6, characterized in that those cylinders (10, 11) which extend transversely to the conveying device are each designed as twin cylinders.

8. Device according to claim 6 or 7, characterized in that the cylinders (10, 11) which extend transversely to the conveyor device are movable together with the cylinder (9) which extends parallel to the conveyor device as a single arrangement.

9 Device according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the separating devices further comprise separating devices (6, 7) which can be moved transversely to the conveyor device between the items of clothing or clothes hangers and which can be displaced parallel to the conveyor device in order to create a gap between a group (4') of items of clothing and the adjacent items of clothing or clothes hangers.

10. Device according to claim 9, characterized in that four separating devices (6) are provided, which can be positioned in pairs on both sides of the group (4').

11. Device according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the bagging device has a bag feed device and bag gripping devices (29 - 34), the latter being movable upwards and downwards.

12. Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the bag feed device provides a bag (26) as a rectangular tube, while the bag gripping devices (29 - 34) grip those upper edges which extend parallel to the conveyor device

13. Device according to claim 12, characterized in that the bag gripping devices (29 - 34) each have a plurality of, preferably three, clamping jaws which are arranged in a row, with at least one of the clamping jaws (30, 33) being movable outwardly across the conveyor device when the other clamping jaws (29, 31, 32, 34) have released the hose.

14. Device according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that welding bars (22) for closing a bag arranged around the group (4') and cutting means are provided, and optionally welding bars (36) for cutting off the bag and for closing it are provided below the group (4').

15. Device according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the conveyor device has a trolley (3) which is movable while suspended on a rail (1) and which is provided with positioning projections which can be detected by registration devices.
