Verschlußstopf en aus Holz Um für Verschlußstopfen für Flaschen u. dgl. an Stelle des teuren Korkes das billige Holz verwenden zu können, muß man irgendwelche Maßnahmen treffen, die Hauptschwierigkeit der viel geringeren Nachgieb;gkeit des Holzes zu beseitigen. -Man hat vorgeschlagen, zu diesem Zweck den Stopfen. mit 'inneren Ausnehmungen, mit Ausdrehungen an der Oberfläche u. dgl. zu versehen. Die Erfindung löst die Schwierigkeit auf eine andere einfachere Weise; und zwar dadurch, daß an Stelle des bisher stets verwendeten. durch langes Lagern getrockneten Holzes feuchtes Holz, insbesondere sog. grünes: Holz, zur Herstellung der Stopfen benutzt wird, und daß der Stopfen mit einem ihn allseitig umschließenden Überzug versehen wird, der einem Austrocknen entgegenwirkt. Die Erfindung- nutzt mithin die Tatsache-aus, daß feuchtes, insbesondere grünes Holz wesentlich nachgiebiger und elastischer ist als getrocknetes Holz. Die Erfindung macht besondere Ausnehmungen im Innern oder an der Außenfläche des Stopfens, wie sie bisher vorgeschlagen worden sind, überflüssi.-.
