Die bisher zum Tränken und Füttern von Vögeln allgemein gebräuchlichen einfachen Näpfe und Satten bieten so vielfache Uebelstände, dafs es für jeden Vogelzüchter und Vogelliebhaber wünschenswerth erscheint, geeignetere Apparate hierfür zu erhalten.The simple ones previously commonly used for watering and feeding birds Bowls and satellites present so many evils that there are for every avian and bird breeder It seems desirable to bird lovers to obtain more suitable apparatus for this purpose.

Es bezeichnet α eine umgestülpt stehende Glasfiasche, deren Oeffnung durch, den Korken / verschlossen ist; b bezeichnet eine Blechhülse um den Flaschenhals, die nach unten offen und oben an den Ring ρ angelöthet ist. Der obere Blechring / ist mit dem ringförmigen Untersatz α durch die Blechstützen d d verbunden. Diese Stützen theilen die Tränk- bezw. Futterapparate in eine Anzahl Abtheilungen. Die Oeffnungen gg in der Hülse b dienen dazu, den Stand der Wasserfüllung jederzeit erkennen zu lassen. Als eigentliches Tränkgefäfs dient der Napf-*». In den Korken / sind auf zwei Seiten kleine Einschnitte ii gemacht, durch die das Wasser in den Napf m gelangt.
