Um diese Papiere kleben zu können, hat man die verschiedensten Versuche mit besonders hierzu hergestellten Klebstoffen durchgeführt. Man hat andererseits auch schon Ligroin als Lösungsmittel für Mischungen vorgeschlagen, doch nicht in Verbindung mit derartigen mit Kolophonium und Erdwachs zum Wasserdicht- und Fettdichtmachen von Papier, Karton, Pappe u. dgl.
