α α und α¹ α' sind die Seitenwände der Bettstelle, welche zusammengeschoben in ihre Falze b b b' b¹ die Stirnwände des Koffers bilden. c c' bilden den Boden der Bettstelle, sowie beim Koffer die Seitenwände. Kopf- und Fufswand des Bettes, welche den Boden bezw. den Deckel des Koffers bilden, bestehen aus mit Winkeleisen umrahmten Platten d und d^l und ist die den Deckel des Koffers bildende (V¹J beweglich in den Scharnieren e e, während die andere, den Boden des Koffers bildende (d) fest an den Seitenwänden α α angebracht ist. Zur Befestigung von d' an die Wände a¹ a' sind die Haken // angebracht, welche in die an den Wänden «'s' befestigten Oesen g g passen und somit das Umkippen der Wand d' verhindern. Zur Befestigung der Seitenwände der Bettstelle in der Längsrichtung dienen die an den Wänden a'a¹ angebrachten Haken h h, welche in die Oesen i i passen, welche an a a befestigt sind. Aufserdem ruht die Hälfte A der ganzen Bettstelle noch auf den Riegeln k k, welche an B drehbar in ihren Befestigungspunkten befestigt sind, während B noch durch die vier Beine / / und m' m * eine sichere Unterstützung erhält. Sämmtliche sechs Beine m Im^ der Bettstelle sind mittelst Flügelmuttern befestigt, wodurch ein leichtes Abnehmen derselben ermöglicht ist, was bei dem Gebrauch als Koffer sehr wünschenswerth ist. Hierauf stellt man die Hälfte A mit dem Boden d nach unten auf, hebt den Theil B über A, und nachdem man beide Theile in ihre Führungen b und b^l gebracht, drückt man den Theil B langsam nach unten, um schliefslich den Koffer in der in Fig. 5 gezeichneten Form zu erhalten.
