Die Schaltmittel, welche die Einleitung der Rückfrageverbindung bzw. den Anruf der Beamtin bewirken, bestehen aus einer Zeitschalteinrichtung, nämlich dem Hitzdrahtkontakt Hk, einem Steuerwähler D, einem Differentialrelais G und dem Umschaltrelais U. Bei der Belegung der Amtsleitung, also beim Ansprechen des Relais P₁ wurde bereits der Hitzdrahtkontakt Jik eingeschaltet: ίο Erde, p₂, g_lt Hk, Batterie, Erde. Nach einer gewissen Zeit, welche so groß bemessen ist, daß die Stromstoßgabe zur Herstellung der Amtsverbindung bereits beendet ist, also etwa 5 bis io Stunden betragen mag, spricht der Hitzdrahtkontakt Hk an, so daß das Differentialrelais G über seine Wicklung I erregt wird: Erde, p₂, hk, u_it G₁, Batterie,, Erde. Das Differentialrelais G spricht an, unterbricht am Kontakt g_t den Stromkreis für den Hitzdrahtkontakt Hk und legt sich über denselben Kontakt g_t in einen Haltestromkreis. Der Nebenstellenteilnehmer hat nun die Möglichkeit, die gewünschte Hausstelle durch die Betätigung seiner Wählscheibe anzurufen. Nach einer gewissen Zeit spricht wieder, wie für die Herstellung der Amtsverbindung bereits beschrieben, der Hitzdrahtkontakt Hk an. Über hk wird das Differentialrelais G in diesem Falle aber über die Wicklung II eingeschaltet.
