Abstract

The cylindrical inner (2) and outer (3) pipe each have a wide conically widening end (6,9) and a wide conically tapering end (7,10). The conical ends have the same cone angle of between 0.5 and 2 degrees. The conically tapered ends have a larger diameter along them than the cylindrical parts (5,8) of the inner and outer pipes. A conically tapered end and a conically wider end is positioned near each end side of the pipe section (1). An annular gap (11) free of insulation is formed between the conically tapered end of the inner pipe and the conically wider end of the outer pipe. Insulation (4) extends from the end side of the pipe section with the conically tapered outer pipe and the conically wider inner pipe to the transition between the inner pipe and its conically tapered end or to the outer pipe and its conically wider end.
