Abstract

A medium for coating the surface of paper (esp. a paper to be vacuum metallised with aluminium vapour) contains a mixture of: (a) polymer particles in the size range 0.2-5 mu m (pref. 0.3-2 mu m); and (b) particles having a size of less than 0.1 mu m (pref. less than 0.7 mu m) in an aqueous dispersion.
