Um Waaren in Stücken, z. B. Tuche, Flanelle, Gardinen etc. in gespanntem Zustande zu trocknen, sind die bisherigen Trockenmaschinen nicht zu verwenden. Wir haben daher die auf beiliegender Zeichnung im Grund und Aufrifs dargestellten Maschine construirt, welche im wesentlichen aus zwei um eine Welle a, die _v hier vertical angeordnet ist, rotirende hölzerne ^ Spiralen S₁ und s₂ besteht, die auf ihrer ganzen Länge an der Aufsenseite mit Messingstiftchen besetzt sind. Im Innern'- dieser Spiralen befinden sich Windflügel v, die mit der oberen fest und mit der unteren Spirale so verbunden sind, dafs sich letztere nach oben und unten darüber verschieben läfst, was hier durch Führung in den Knaggen k bewirkt ist.
■** Nachdem die Waare oben und unten von innen heraus an die Stifte der Spiralen angehängt ist, dreht man vermittelst der aufgesteckten Kurbel b die Welle c, so dafs sich das mit Gewinde versehene Winkelrad e auf der ebenfalls im unteren Theile mit Gewinde versehenen Hauptwelle α nach unten schraubt. Da das Rad e die untere Rosette der Spirale s, an der Nabe mittelst der Klauen / umfafst, so wird auf diese Weise die untere Spirale niedergezogen und die auf der Maschine befindliche Waare in dem erforderlichen Mafse der Breite nach gespannt gehalten.
