Dachziegel für Doppeldeckung.Roof tiles for double roofing.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 9. Juli 1890 ab.Patented in the German Empire on July 9, 1890.
A roof covering is to be created with the new, peculiarly designed flat roof tile which is completely tight without the use of a binder between the individual bricks. Figures 1 and 2 show a part of a roof covered in this way in plan and section, while Fig. 3 shows a represents single brick.
As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the flat tiles are laid in rows in the longitudinal direction of the roof and arranged in such a way that no special connecting means are required between them. For this purpose each brick has a downwardly curved flange c on its lower edge, accordingly the middle part a of the underlying brick is bevelled; the downwardly extending part A of one brick now comes over the upper part B of the other brick are. In this way are always two brick thicknesses above the other, while the side edges · the brick blunt stofsen front of each other. Nevertheless, the water or the wind is not able to penetrate through the roof because the anstofsenden edges b two bricks by the area of The upper and lower parts B and A of such bricks lie in two different planes, which are connected by the slope α .
Fig. 2 shows how the upwardly curved upper flange d of one tile engages below and the downwardly curved lower flange c of another tile over the slope α of the intermediate tile. The weight of the brick can be reduced by cutting off strips at the edges, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 3, without thereby damaging the tightness of the roofing. The bricks can be connected to their base with tabs e . By engaging the flange c in the slope α , the falling of the brick is made impossible, even if the tabs e should have broken off.
