Description
Means for destroying arable weeds The plant-destroying The effects of sulphurous acid as well as its solutions are known. The under Phenomena summarized under the name smoke gas damage are also poisoning of plants by sulfur dioxide. The sulphurous acid acts here evenly all plants, in this way (see N o a c k, Journal for Applied Chemistry, 1929, p. I23) that by deflecting the photo-oxidative effect of chlorophyll on the protoplasm the plant is destroyed.
Gegen Hederich nimmt man z. It has now been found that sulfur dioxide can be found in low concentrations, expediently used in special preparations for the selective destruction of Weeds in crops. Against Hederich one takes z. B. up to 20'oige aqueous solutions, correspondingly more against blooming Hederich. You can use the sulphurous Use acid also in the form of bisulfite. Also high sulfur polysulfide solutions are useful. The sulfur dioxide then only arises through oxidation on the plant. The calcium polysulphide solution is prepared from 195 sulfur, 56 lime, 400 water and takes a 6% polysulfide spray solution.
