Das auf beiliegender Zeichnung dargestellte Probirventil für Dampfkessel etc. besteht aus den folgenden fünf Theilen: Gehäuse, Ventilkegel, Ventilsitz, Verschlufsschraube und Schlüssel. Zum Auslassen von Dampf oder Wasser soll der Ventilkegel, abgewendet vom Kesselwärter, eine breite Nuth haben; aufserdem hat derselbe unten einen Vierkantansatz, eben so grofs wie der der Verschlufsschraube. Der Schlüssel dient zum Lüften und Drehen des Kegels und zum Drehen bezw. Lösen und Festschrauben der Verschlufsschraube beim Reinigen. Querschnittsverengungen sind vermieden.
