Dabei erfolgt die Verwendung des Esters zu dem Zwecke, ihn durch Behandeln auf der Mischwalze bei höherer Temperatur für sich oder in Gegenwart von Kontaktsubstanzen in eine feste, polymere Form überzuführen (vgl. Anwendung von hochsiedenden Estern der Acrylsäure können nach diesem Verfahren Nitrocellulose-Kautschuklösungen
vön jedem gewünschten Viskositätsgrade hergestellt werden.
