Abstract

The device has a conveying device (24) for conveying the flat articles (10) in a conveying direction (F). A processing section (16) produces partially closed envelope (20) out of packaging material. An onward conveying device (26) conveys enveloped products in a continuous conveying stream. A transfer device (28) located downstream of the processing section removes empty envelopes (22) produced without the inclusion of an article from the conveying stream. An independent claim is included for method for packaging flat articles conveyed in a conveying stream.
