Abstract

The pre-sorter has several parallel cross belt sorters (1,2,3) with several cross belts (Q1,Q2) arranged orthogonal to the cross belt sorters and each leading to an exit(X1,X2..). Each cross belt can be loaded with mail from the cross belt sorters according to the sorting criterium. A chute (20) can be provided to forward the mail from a cross belt to a conveyor belt (21,22). At least one conveyor belt can be mounted parallel between two cross belt sorters.
