Abstract

Production of cold-formed components made of a hardenable aluminum material comprises producing an aluminum strip or sheet, positioning the strip or sheet, heat treating, and cold forming. Cold forming is carried out shortly after heat treatment. Preferred Process: The heat treatment is carried out by calcining and quenching the aluminum strip or sheet. The aluminum strip or sheet has a width of up to 1000 mm.
