As one of the greatest difficulties in filling the matchboxes with machines So far, pushing the inner boxes filled with matches into the Outward boxes exposed.

This difficulty is completely avoided by using the empty inner boxes partially protruding into the outer boxes, while the matches are inserted into the former will.

In order to accomplish this, the inventor brings the boxes in such a position that the opening in the outer box partially inserted inner box down and straight over a rotating lifting table comes to rest on which the appropriate number of matches with one end in that part of the inner box which is in the outer box is pushed in will. As soon as so many pieces of wood have been inserted that the box is full, the lifting table is on the same level as the side of the inner box that is open at the bottom lifted up, and it is then not difficult to put the filled inner box all the way into the outer box to push in.

A box filling machine set up for this purpose is shown in the accompanying drawings shown.

α (see Fig. ι and 3) is the magazine in which the pieces of wood removed from the frame with the firing heads are placed on the same side. In the lower part of this magazine there are two movable, laterally adjustable parts α ³ , Fig. 3 and 9, which are each connected to a rail a ^{5 by a curved rod λ 4} and in one by the movement of a pin fastened on the latter Nuthcurve of the wheel attached to the shaft m ⁶ are moved back and forth. The purpose of these movable parts is to bring the pieces of wood into a regular position by shaking them, and to cause them to sink evenly.

Under the magazine α there is a channel a ¹ into which the pieces of wood fall down (see Fig. 1 and 4). In the bottom of the same an opening is provided, which can be opened as far as desired by means of a flap a ^s by means of adjusting screw a ^%; the flap a ⁸ is pressed upwards by a spring. The purpose of this flap is to regulate the number of pieces of wood which are to be removed from the magazine by raising or lowering it, and to organize the pieces of wood that have fallen into the channel a ' by moving it through in a rapid up and down motion a device described later is relocated.

In front of the opening of the magazine a, from which the pieces of wood are pushed out, there is an adjustable brush a, which has the purpose of holding those pieces of wood that the slide b should not take with it (see Fig. I). . _ _

In front of the brush is a cover b ² fastened with a soft spring b ¹ , which is pressed down by the spring onto the wood and gives it a steady movement while it is being pushed out. When the pieces of wood ^{leave the channel a 7} , in which the slide b moves, they fall into a turntable c located under the channel (see FIGS. 1 and 2, as well as the individual drawings FIGS. 5, 6 and 7), which the determination has to rotate the timber so, that their firing heads first into the partially pushed out of the keeper box inner box arrive (s. The arm b ^{h is} connected to the flap £ ⁴ , to which a cord b ^{e is} attached, which is held taut between b ^s and an arm b ⁷ attached to the frame. The purpose of this cord is to hold a hook b ^s in the position indicated in the drawing (see FIG. 4). The mentioned hook b ^s is rotatably attached to a decoupling handle b ⁹ , which is itself rotatably mounted in d and ends with a hook d ¹ , which has the purpose of an arm d ² on the shaft d ³ , on which the steps d ^{i are} attached to hold (see Fig. 1, 2, 3 and 4).

On the shaft d ³ are also the angle lever arms d ⁵ and d ^ß (see. Fig. 3 and 4). The lever arm d ^e is hit by the thumb d ^& (see FIG. 4) attached to the machine shaft d ¹ with every stroke the machine makes, the angle arm d ^s d ^{6 being given} a back and forth movement. To start the machine again, the disturbance in the cells of the turntable is first removed and the flap & ^{4 is brought} into the correct position so that the cord b ^{e is} tensioned when the hook b ^{8 is} no longer in the incision d ⁹ engages; then <tf ⁴ is kicked down so that the hook d ¹ can hold the arm d ^2.

The turntable c (see Fig. 5, 6 and 7) is used. to turn over the pieces of wood advanced from the magazine α (see Fig. 2). These first fall down into the cell g , which lies under the channel a ^1. In the drawing, the turntable is shown in the position when the pieces of wood have just pushed forward and fell into cell g .

As can be seen from FIGS. 6 and 7, the cell g is wider than the opposite cell g ¹ , from which the pieces of wood are led down by means of a pusher g ' ² into the channel g ⁶ located under g ¹ . The pusher g- is attached to a rod g ³ which is movable in guides and which is lifted up by an eccentric g *, which acts on an arm g ⁵ projecting from the rod g ^s. In the channel g ⁶ there is a piston g ⁷ (see FIGS. 1 to 4), which has the purpose of pushing the pieces of wood up onto the lifting table h (see FIG. 5) and placing them in the downward-facing inner box h ¹ to direct.

During the insertion, the outer box is widened by means of a hook h ^s in connection with a piston h * (see FIG. 5), which will be discussed further below. The boxes are held down while they are being inserted and pushed together by a cover h ^s overlying them. The inner box is also held in place by a hook / ϊ ^β .

From Fig. 5, 6 and 7 it can be seen that in the turntable c the frames g ^s and g ⁹ , one from below, the other from above, are fitted and connected by crossbars ii ,

which frame move around the fixed eccentric disk z ² .

When the frames rotate with the turntable, they are ^{shifted laterally by the eccentric 2} , and the width of the cells is thereby enlarged or reduced, which makes it much easier to hold and organize the pieces of wood.

The rotation of the turntable c is based on a lever h ¹ (see FIG. I) which is movable about a bolt V fastened to the bearing block P. From this lever h ¹ a rod h ^s goes to a guide rail h ⁹ ₇ which runs in the bearings p ^w attached to the chair.

The shaft of the eccentric disk has a spur gear k ^{provided with four pins / e 2} k ^{2 at its lower end.}

After every complete revolution of the machine shaft, the turntable continues to rotate, namely when the pistons b and g ^{7 attached to the common crosspiece m 1} (see FIGS. 1 and 2) are withdrawn.

A thumb m is connected to the cross-piece m ¹ which engages in a corresponding incision m in the lever W (see FIG. 1), whereby the forward and backward movement of the former is transmitted to the lever, which Movement, however, can be restricted to only part of the path of the crosspiece m ^1.

In the guide ^{rail / z 9} there is an incision k ¹ , into which the downwardly extending pins k ² fastened in the spur gear can fall one after the other during the forward and backward movement of the guide rail (see FIG. 6). In front of this incision, a locking device k ^{3 is} attached, which is held by a spring in the position indicated on the drawing. If now the guide rail h ⁹ moves in the direction of the arrow, the spur gear must follow ^J / ₄ rotation, and when the guide rail is withdrawn it is held in such a position that the pins A: ' ² are firmly attached to the guide rail .

The crosspiece m ¹ (see Fig. 1 and 2) is ^{guided by the arm m 2} and this arm sitting on the shaft m ^{3 in} turn by the arm wz ⁴ , which with a role in the eccentric groove curve m ⁵ in one of the Machine shaft m ⁶ attached disk engages.

A conical gear transmission transmits the movement from the shaft m ⁶ to the shaft cP.

The lifting table h (see FIGS. 1 and 5) is guided with a downward arm with a conical end η in the track η ^{1 of} a track disk n ⁶ on the shaft d ¹ and receives its movement from this shaft. With this device, the lifting table can receive the most expedient and quietest movement for insertion, since the movement center of the lifting table can thereby be lowered or raised somewhat while it is being turned. This gentle movement is obtained by keeping the track η ¹ unequal deep. The work is also made easier if the lifting table h is provided with an elongated small cavity at the top (Fig. 5).

The hook h ⁶ , which holds the inner box in its position, is ^{guided by the two-armed lever n 2} , which engages with its one end in the track η ^{3 of} a disk on the shaft d ¹ and with its upper end one of the shaft of the Hook h ^e descending arm (see Figs. 5 and 6).

The empty boxes are pushed together, with the open side of the inner boxes turned down, placed in the magazine 0 (see Fig. 1 and 2). From this magazine, each of the cells of the turntable o ¹ (FIGS. 1 and 2) is filled with a box by means of a piston o ² which is connected to a guide rail h ¹⁰ which is guided in bearings p ^5. On the guide rail h ¹⁰ there is also a piston / z ⁴ , which pushes the boxes apart and brings them into the correct position via the lifting table h , as well as a piston / z ¹² , which pushes the filled boxes together and back into the turntable o ¹ starts.

The guide rail h ¹⁰ gets its movement by a on the shaft? ³ seated Armp ⁴ and the shaft p ³ hers by the arm ρ ⁶ , which in turn is moved again by means of the rod p ¹ by the double lever ρ ^Ά , which is in the track ρ ⁹ of the disk ^{attached to the Welled 7} is moved . The surfaces between the incisions n ⁶ are shaped according to the surface of the disk κ ⁴ , which the latter rests firmly against one of these surfaces, from which it follows that the rotary disk o ^{1 is held} immovably in the position given to it by the tooth κ ⁵ .

When one of the cells of the turntable o ^{1 has reached the} middle of the lifting table, the guide rail h ¹⁰ moves upwards with the piston, a new box is inserted from the magazine o into the turntable, and the box in front of the lifting table is removed from the Piston / j ⁴ pushed forward and apart, while at the same time it is widened somewhat by means of hook h ³ (see FIG. 5).

When the insertion has taken place and the boxes are to be pushed together, the guide rail * fo ¹⁰ begins to go downwards, the hook / z ⁶ sinks down, the piston h ¹²

brings the boxes back into the turntable o ¹ and pushes them together. The turntable is then turned around until the next cell has arrived in front of the lifting table. During the continued movement of the turntable, the cells with the filled boxes come in front of a descending hook on the arm ρ (see Fig. 2) which serves to remove the filled boxes from the cells. This arm has its position inside the turntable when it rotates, and is " in connection with a toothed segment ρ ¹ in connection, which is guided by a corresponding cutout p ² , which is attached to the shaft p ^3. The boxes are on this Way and fall down either into a chute or into a box standing next to the machine.

From the drawings it can be seen that the mechanism is mounted on a table-like frame, and that the part of the table on which the turntable o ^{1 is placed} inclines towards the horizontal part as far as is necessary for the timbers to move during the Push into the box and get straight into the inner box above the lifting table.
