Der in beiliegender Zeichnung dargestellte Stuhl besitzt eine drehbare aus zwei Theilen a und b bestehende Lehne, von denen α sich um den Zapfen d in b, und b sich um Zapfen c im Sitze drehen kann. Das Ende des Lehnentheiles b ist mit dem in Fig. 3 dargestellten, unter dem Sitze angebrachten Mechanismus durch das gabelförmige Gelenkstück g verbunden. Letzterer besteht aus einer Zahnstange, welche in Führungen ti gleitet, und einem Sperrhaken k, der sich um den Zapfen η dreht und durch eine Spiralfeder / stets in die Zähne der Zahnstange gedrückt wird. Beim Niederlegen der Lehne b gleitet die Zahnstange h unter dem Haken k hin, eine Bewegung in entgegengesetzter Richtung, also das Aufklappen der Lehne b, wird durch k verhindert und ist nur dann möglich, wenn letztere durch die Schnur / und den Fufstritt e gehoben wird.
