Gemäß der Erfindung wird eine wesentliche Vereinfachung und Zeitverkürzung in der Durchführung des Umdrucks dadurch herbeigeführt, daß die großflächigen Bestandteile des zu erzeugenden Bildes nicht mit der Hand auf dem Stein herausgezeichnet, sondern in Umdruckpapier ausgeschnitten oder ausgestanzt werden, das hierzu entsprechend vorbereitet wird. Diese Vorbereitung geschieht in der Weise, daß fetthaltiges Umdruckpapier entweder auf den eingefärbten Stein aufgelegt und dann nach Aufnahme der Farbe davon abgezogen wird oder aber, das Papier wird unmittelbar auf der einen Seite mit Farbe eingewalzt. Jetzt erfolgt das zuvor erwähnte Ausschneiden oder Ausstanzen der auf der ungefärbten Seite mit den Umrissen der Zeichnungsteile versehenen Flächen. Die Ausschnitte «-erden alsdann in der üblichen `'eise, mit der Farbseite nach außen, aufgestochen und dann in einer Umdruckpresse ein Umdruck auf einer Zink- oder sonstigen Umdruckplatte gemacht.
