Description

A method of glazing of cement products, particulary u 'asbestos cement slate. Like. It has already been proposed several times to glaze cement goods of all kinds, partly to them more resistant to ma chen, teüls to decorating purposes. For example, glass fluxes were applied and burned onto cement objects that contained special fluxes. On the other hand, plates made of asbestos-cement slate have also been provided with glazes. However, these products have apparently not proven themselves because baking the glaze requires temperatures that are too high, at which the plates become brittle.

According to the invention, such panels, primarily asbestos panels, as a result, they are provided with a permanent glaze, the relatively low one Temperatures require that the plates, expediently before their complete Hardening, coated with such fluxes or superficially impregnated with the components of cement or asbestos, i.e. alumina, lime or magnesia silicates, Form a light, melt flow, so that the glaze only through one in the melt flow emerging association. of the cement components and the applied substances will. Such substances are z. B. Fluoride: e, primarily alkali fluorides, which are used as aqueous solution can be applied. In the fire and in: him, partly even before. chemical reaction taking place, e.g. B. with the lime components of the cement, insoluble fluorine compounds are formed, which form a weatherproof, anchored in the surface: form coating .. After drying the applied Heating can take place either by burning the objects in: a suitable oven or by brushing the same with a fan flame or the like. be effected.

Of course, any mineral colors can be used for the coating layer and the like.
