Die Drehung der Birne kann auf elektromagnetischem Wege, durch einen Bowdenzug oder auf sonst geeignete Weise erfolgen. Bei Vollbeleuchtung (Abb. i) liegt der versilberte Teil c' der Glühbirne hinten und ergänzt den Paraboloidspiegel, indem die versilberte Fläche c sich an die Spiegelfläche des Paraboloidspiegels a anschließt. Soll für Stadtbetrieb abgeblendet werden, so wird die Birne um go° gedreht, so daß die versilberte Hälfte c' der Glühbirne oben liegt.
